He really is the kind of player you want on your team. He scores, he hits, he hustles every shift, he has speed, and so on. The guy is on fire in the postseason. I really hope the Wings brass is watching this guy because he is a great prospect.
He also dives constantly and embellishes non-stop.
Mrazek has been great all year. He does let in soft goals from time to time, that seems to be his Achilles heel, but he is a big reason they've gotten so far - with 4 shutouts this post season.
I agree that he's not NHL ready, but at this rate he'll be a great successor to Howard.
Ya no kidding. They need to do it at start of next game.
Also my jealous side is glad the 8000 bandwagon fans didn't get to see them clinch. Us real fans that were in the 3000 all season long deserve it but not the bandwagoners.
Your jealous side really sucks.
Tough loss, but Syracuse found all the breaks. More weak officiating only made it a worse game to watch. Hopefully the Griffins can regain their form. Everyone played mostly weak games, with the exception of DeKeyser. Syracuse seemed to give them fits - especially the defense.
That said, they had plenty of chances late in the first and second periods. They just have to get back to their game and it should click.
Random trivia for anyone who'll be attending tonight's game - it may go without saying but - it looks like Chris Chelios will be there. I just passed him having lunch downtown.
We're you at the game? I thought he looked pretty good but I was trying to watch the feed.
I was, yeah. He logged a lot of minutes, so I guess to say he didn't look great might come across harsh. It's not that he was bad, but had a couple of miscues here and there. Played a good game, but it wasn't among his best performances. At one point he whiffed a writer and then fell down trying to recover the puck, which certainly wasn't a highlight. But I wouldn't go so far as to call it a bad game.
Syracuse pressured the defense a lot, though. I was impressed with their overall play; but the Griffins stood up to the task and played better as the game progressed.
