I don't get KH obsession with our own avereged FA. Let theme go, Helm is not needed we should play AA on 3rd line (at least). KH said that he's looking for scoring, grit and size... Helm used to hit people 5 years ago. He doesn't bring anything what we are missing.

Here comes another Weiss contract signing in Nielsen ... Swear to god if Kenny gives a 31 year old a 6-7 year deal at 5.5-6 per

Hedman "could" be a ufa next year , no point using up all our cap space now just cause we got some

I predict that Nielsen = 2018/2019 buyout

 I love how this started with Radulov but evolved, not quite sirdrake stuff but I get a kick out of it.

Actually it started with pro-Radulov "fans" calling Lucic "piece of s***" 😉

Ya I think the roster is what really made datsyuk's decision to leave. If we had a great team I guarantee he will finish out his contract

It's seems like pretty much same reason why Babs left also...

Staal might sign a shorter 'prove-yourself' type deal reporters are saying but as of now I've never heard that they were planning on meeting him so there's that. Looks like we're signing Nielson. This guy reminds me a lot of Stephen Weiss it makes me sick but we are in dire need of a center men

No to Nielsen, he's 32 and looking for long-term +$6M contract. He will be Andrew MacDonald 2.0...
I would rather have Backes if we needs to add "older" center. Stop mentioning Weiss, he's center and Kenny could sign him to the 2nd tour...

That's exactly what he's going to do except their names will be Staal, Hudler, and Martin (signed for entirely too much money for a 4th liner).

You don't expect Ken Holland to sit on all that Datsyuk money, do you?

Martin is too tough for KH standards.
I expect him pulling a trade with Tampa and bringing back Flip-flop

Bowman's lineup were perfect mix of speed, skill and toughness...

Since 2008 KH is trying to find Drake 2.0 and here is a reason why

Speed kinda is everything though.  What's the difference between Matt Cullen, Luke Glendening, Darren Helm, and Matt Martin?  None of them have good hands.  None are noticeably smarter hockey players.  But the first three, because they're fast, get more scoring chances (and as a result capitalize more often).  And they can kill penalties...because they can skate.  Martin can't.  And so he doesn't.

I don't have a problem with physicality.  But if that's all you're getting then you're not really helping yourself.

My ideal fourth line for the Wings is Glendening-Helm-Bertuzzi/Callahan.  None hit like Martin.  All are WAY better players though.

It's not splitting hairs.  Hitting doesn't win games.  Offensive and defense do.  Neither Miller nor Martin are great offensively.  But only one of them is good defensively.  It ain't Martin.

Martin is a strong skater. I have no idea where are you going with this. Even KH admitted that he needs bigger and tougher players... I guess in your ideal world, KH will bring Flip and Hudler back and call it a day. We have fashion models and not hockey players... Lucic, Martin are hockey players.

And Howard? please please please can we have that too!??!??

He will end up in Vegas...next year...

Ericsson to Dallas is the only slim chance we might have , Howard is sadly going nowhere till the expansion draft

Nyquist could be used in a package for a dman , I wouldn't just trade him away though

We got enough bottom guys though and a ton of kids going for roster spots and a chance to play ... Miller glendening sheahan mantha Tatar ... Possibly jurco frk pulkkinen . Why add a 3-4 million salary for a 4th liner now?

Sooner or later these kids are gonna have to get a shot to make the team

4th line = Grind Line
What are our options? Jurco, Pulks and Frk are drafted as a skilled players not grinders. 4th line options, we don't have.

Ya I thought of him ... Plays good 2 way , swede ... Wouldn't surprise me at all if he was a redwing , just don't wanna give too much of a longterm deal to a 32 year old

And he's one hit away from being Franzen 2.0.
