1. Flip and 3rd to Caps for Wideman
2. Sign Richards
3. Trade/waive Hudler for anything
4. Sign Jovo or SOB
5. Sign Konopka
6. Sign Garon or Theo

Zetterberg - Dats - Bertuzzi
Cleary - Richards - Franzen
Eaves - Helm - Homer
Abdelkader - Konopka - Mursak/Tatar

Lids - Wideman
Kronwall - Jovo/Stuart
Stuart/SOB - Ericsson

I would hate to lose Flip - but it's the only trade value that we could move.

Richards is great player (top 6 forward) and he can play point on PP.

Wideman provides right hand DEF who can play with Lids against any line in NHL.

Konopka, good at faceoof's, gritty forward who can skate, hit and fight. Still can learn - reference: Shawn Thornton.

#2192940 Wings re-sign Ericsson to 3-year, $9.75m contract

Posted by Dominator2005 on 30 June 2011 - 09:39 PM

franzen's contract is going to look terrible in a couple years. he's injury prone and signed till hes like 40.... i'm not a fan of that contract.... burns is a great dman. u can't just point out his faults and then say franzen has none. franzen is very injury prone. so pluses on burns... young, loads of potential on a great team like detroit, young, big, right shot....

Franzen or Hossa??? :)

#2179213 Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

Posted by Dominator2005 on 24 May 2011 - 07:26 PM

This is a good evaluation. If Holland is doing his job correctly, our 1st round picks will consistently be 25th and later. The elite talent is in the top 10 of the 1st round, and the talent after that likely won't be able to replace either of Lidstrom or Rafalski, which brings us to our next point: regardless of whether Lids retires this year or not, Holand needs to make a move at some point to replace him. Weber is amongst a select few in the entire league (not just in this year's free agent pool) that can effectively fill in when Lidstrom leaves. Rafalski leaving will be devastating to our offense, but there are more options for replacing him over the next few years than there are for Lids. I'm willing to sacrifice 4 1st rounders for Weber to lead the Wings' defensive core over the next decade.

This is a GREAT evaluation and I agree with you 1000%.

Imagine next season our def:

Lidstrom - Weber
Kronwall - Bieksa/Wiz
Stuart - Kindl

Except Hudler has just found his game while Neil has lost his.

#2084205 Frederick Meyer levels Milan Lucic

Posted by Dominator2005 on 24 December 2010 - 11:11 AM

Nothing is awesome about Lucic.

Unless he has a piano fall on his head from the sky.

Guy is a wannabee enforcer who usually fights guys he knows he'll beat. Here he suckerpunched Meyer of all people. I would love to see someone end his career in some way.

Are you refering to Lilja?!

For your reference:

With those kind of comments - you look pretty "silly"

#2057577 An Unlikely Scrap

Posted by Dominator2005 on 04 November 2010 - 03:24 PM

Crosby haters will hate this but it was not a bad scrap... I'd call it a draw but I love the heart they showed. I personally am a fan of Crosby (minus the whiny fits) but the kid can play and I love that he will throw down from time to time.... and people question his leadership?! Scores, Assists, Hits and occasionally fights... if only we could bring him to Hockeytown!

Call me crazy, but I would rather have Stamkos than Crosby...

I would trade right away Hudler for Clarkson.

#2038157 Wings release Aaron Downey

Posted by Dominator2005 on 29 September 2010 - 06:44 PM

*Reads the topic title.*

Wings don't need Downey, or any player that plays like him. End of story.

Sorry Carman but you are just proving that you are stupid...

Salei, Ericsson, Stuart, Abdelkader, and Bertuzzi are more then enough you don't need to fight to be tough.

OK that's it - I thought that your previous post was "poor" but this one is just WOW...

#2038099 Wings release Aaron Downey

Posted by Dominator2005 on 29 September 2010 - 05:50 PM

Well whaddaya know.

Point still stands.

In your mind maybe, in reality I'm not sure about it. This is not about Downey, I don't care about Downey. He was finished 2 years ago... I wasn't expecting much (anything) from him. This is about Detroit with no TOUGHNESS. Something that was a problem (even Holland said that he will go after enforcer and Dallas Drake type of player)... and nothing... I don't know if you realize but this is the WEAKEST team in the NHL right now...

#2035682 Pre-Season 9/22 GDT: Red Wings at Pittsburgh Penguins

Posted by Dominator2005 on 22 September 2010 - 09:05 PM

Couple things:

1) It's pre-season. Nobody cares. Yeah, Ozzie should technically be trying to prove himself but this really isn't an indicator of the rest of the season. Look at the team in front of him and the team they're playing against. Malkin and Crosby were both playing and neither Datsyuk or Zetterberg played.

2) I think the WIngs went something like 1-9 in 2002 and then went on to one of the most amazing seasons.

So don't everybody start attacking Ozzie. I can sense some of you have your fingers hovering on the "jump off bandwagon" button already.

I agree 100%. There is no need to attack Ozzie - it's only preseason!!! Howard is # 1 and Ozzie will be there when needed.
I was watching B's vs. Habs and was impressed with McGratten, he can really skate, hit and pass. Maybe Holland should have him (instead of Downey) in camp... McQuaid right hand DEF) is the BEAST!!!

#2031448 Quebec City getting new arena

Posted by Dominator2005 on 07 September 2010 - 05:41 AM

Quebec City's metro population ( 715,515 or 725,000 depending on your source) has about 300,000 less people than Edmonton (the current smallest NHL market).

How much smaller/cheaper than Edmonton (a Canadian team) can we make it and have it still work? and why would the NHL want to?

NHL welcome to Mexico City (that was same logic used by Bettman when he decided to expend NHL).

Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) average attendance is 12 088 (fans) which is very good when you compare with the quality of the league.

#2031436 Quebec City getting new arena

Posted by Dominator2005 on 07 September 2010 - 01:32 AM

False; from Montreal Gazette :

The only way the federal government would provide funding to Quebec City would be with regards to a bid on the Winter Olympic Games. That would be on the entire package and not just a new arena. That would also be a long time from now, long after the proposed return of the NHL to Quebec City for the third time.

That's exatcly what I've said!

EDIT: Why negative "feedback"???

#2031378 Quebec City getting new arena

Posted by Dominator2005 on 06 September 2010 - 06:27 PM

40% of money that NHL made (last 2-3 seasons) are coming from Canadian teams...

There are 50 000 of Quebec Nordiques fans (according to http://www.nordiquesnation.com/) and Phoenix has something like 200, Islanders 220...

Relocation is fine - NO TO EXPANSION

QC and Winnipeg can have all the nice arenas private funding can by. But without a corporate partner and fat television revenues guaranteed, it's not going to happen. Bettman isn't going out of his way to make it happen either. Even though ticket sales are poor in Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta, and Columbus, they have good tv contracts, and solid corporate partnerships.

He's very interested in Nordiques...

That's what I told you couple of weeks ago.

They've already poked around the Federal government regarding funding for a new arena and were told no.

False, Stockwell Day said no regarding funding for a NHL TEAM not a new arena. Josée Verner said that they are going to put money on a new arena.
