From Howell, MI and played at UofM. He was drafted early in the second round in 2000 by Boston. Never really put it together in the NHL, minus 19 games with Pittsburgh where he had 18 points. I believe he was on Crosby's wing for that. Retired fairly young because of injury.

Where they finish the regular season doesn't affect draft position for playoff teams. If they get swept in the first road, the pick will be in the mid/high teens. I'd much rather have dealt Nyquist, but trading Tatar made the most sense going forward and the return is far better than anyone could have guessed.

Agreed. I think it was pretty even up between the two of them. Getting Niskanen in the deal the way he is playing right now is the steal of the deal.
