The Wings win and Homer gets a goal called back due to his ass hitting the goalie being in uniform. Do you think Babs could put a shock collar on him that feeds him a shot if he is within 3 feet of the crease?
Officials are people. therefor have a different point of view (it can happen) and different view of what is and is not a penalty.
I understand that it should not be that way, but I guess until Apple comes out with the iRef app for the iPod it is a human element that seems to be
the real issue here.... there will be perfection in the officiating when there is a perfect person to do it, since no person is.....I guess it is what it is.
Decided to pop over to the Bruins board. Some members actually praising the hit and getting angry that there was even a penalty.
Still sour because their team can't close out a playoff series???? shameful
I don't think Chara meant to do that; it's just an unlucky situation. No suspension should be given.
INTENT....is not a factor in actions.... he did it, it happened and now he must take any further suspension that comes with it ( if one is handed out)
Those of you saying that Chara knew he was hitting him into the stantion are crazy. At the pace this game is played, Chara was simply trying to not allow Pacioretty to get by him and grab the puck. This was not a dirty hit. Interference maybe, but Chara certainly did not plan for this to happen.
I remember my days playing hockey, I hit someone the exact same way. It was not on purpose, I had no idea the stantion was there, but it was one of the biggest hits of my hockey career
*The kid I hit was not injured
Again..planning or INTENT to hurt someone or not... Sit his ass down for a few games.... he deserves it.
as you said .. Interference.....that is a penalty...he knew he was interfering .... He is a D-man he knows the criteria
As I already covered, it has nothing to do with it being the "newest and coolest", it has to do with expecting more for my entertainment dollar. period. The Palace is over 30 years old, but is still a legit venue at least... call me all the names you want, I think it's sad that so many people are willing to accept such a poor arena, just because of the team in it, even when that team is the best professional sports franchise in the world... expect more.
Also, I turned down tickets to round 1 last year because they were upper bowl.
I do not think Ill of you by the way... opinions opinions.... I wish I went to enough games that I could turn down tickets!
I LIke the Palace... But I would NOT go to see the Palace right now... I would not pay to sit in a nice arena to see the team get their asses handed to them ..that is not what I expect from my entertainment dollar. entertainment is not WHERE I AM its what I am seeing.
my second point is on the second part of my bold there...What choice do we have if we want to see the Red Wings play in person? Do they play somewhere else?
you're going to question my fandom based off of that?!?!? I take an annual trip to GR to watch the Griffins at Van Andel (side note - it's pretty sad when your AHL arena BLOWS AWAY your NHL arena), I watch every single game, stream SEL and SM-Liga games to watch our other prospects online, and have been to over 100 games at the Joe... my point is, I am not going to pay money to support a venue that I think needs to go away anymore, the live game experience is not JUST the product on the ice, but the environment too and the Joe is a hole these days... I am simply not going to accept "bare minimum" anymore for my entertainment dollar, when I can watch the game in HD on my 52 inch LCD in my cushy chair, with my bottled micro-brew beer and my bathroom 20 feet away, without dealing with the crowd OR the traffic, just to go to a s*** arena...
did I say it makes you less of a fan? no... Did I say you were not a fan? NO!
I support the product..... not the wrapping. I like to cheer my team in the place they call home..... It might not be the best house on the block... But I wont "Boycott" the Joe... to me thats a s*** way of saying "Id rather stay home and watch every game". it s a excuse.... just sayin.
Unless you're in the first 10 rows of the upper bowl, it's not great...
Personally, I won't even go to the Joe anymore unless I'm in the lower bowl, the seats are too crammed up top, the concourse sucks and the bathrooms are a disaster... last season I vowed to not go to another game until they get a new arena...
Awesome fan spirit there!
I understand that the building is not what it used to be .. but damn.... to never go to a game because of it!!
Everyone seemed fine with it when it kept Nabby from going to Detroit. A "punishment" for not signing by season start if I remember correctly.
If you are not signed by a NHL team by say....the Christmas Trade freeze ( or some reasonable point in the season) all players attempting to return should pass through re-entry waivers. or have no waivers at all and let the team that singed the player keep them.
