Babcock deserves to be fired, he is such an idiot.  His lines make no sense and now he wants to insert an old slow player, who missed so much time and has a bad back into the line up when you need to win?  

 

His defensive parings suck and Bertuzzi only helps in Shootouts and we are past the part of the season where we need to care about shootouts.  They need to win in regulation at least a couple of times. Need to get five of six points and two ROW to make it. 

 

Does anyone REALLY think that putting Bertuzzi in right now will make the difference?  He MIGHT be an improvement over Tootoo, but you know Babcock will likely put him in the top two lines and bench Gustav because he seems to do that all the time.  I just don't think you want to put him in right now.  He can't be in shape enough, and being -1 in the last three games could be enough to keep the Wings out of the playoffs.   This isn't a good idea. 

Would rather have Semin and Doan over Morrow... and they are asset free.

If semin goes to pitts... then I have lost all faith in Holland.  This isn't to say that I am being sensational... just how often can you get a need filler guy on special. Eff the risk. He has speed, a shot, and can play two ways.  He is available on special be due to overblown reports of his ethics.  He is just following Ovie, which btw he plays better defense than and his offense is upper class.  


Holland cannot sell to me Sammy, Tootoo, and even Doan are enough to fix the team. I wanted Suter, Doan, Semin...  Would settle for Doan, Semin, Roszival and even overlook the two bad deals.


Those suggesting that adding Doan and Semin won't fix our defense.  You are overblowing the state of our defense.  We have Four guys that should be top four guys, one that is expected to eventually be a top four guy and a first round pick to round it out.  We could use more proven talent on the top... but that is a luxury that we had for a long time.  Get over it and see what we have before we go chasing luxuries.  A seventh or sixth guy is fine enough. The team defense was good last year and relied heavily on E, not Lidstrom.  Based this on the actual time on ice.  True Stuart was also a big part of that... but we just have to see if people step up and address what we need later.  We won't replace Lidstrom, let alone in one year.  Even if we got Suter.  I won't suggest we ***** about something we can't fix properly.  WE STILL NEED OFFENSE.

That was our issue, lack of a sniper was something we wanted at the deadline.  Semin was that.  I argued we needed guys to chase the puck and fight for it.  Semin fits that, as well does Doan.  We needed dirty parts of the ice guys, guys that go to the hard real estate.  Doan is that.   The Wings need both to fix our offense from last year.  Get both and we have a championship cailber offense with spare parts.  That can also help if we need to trade later by giving us extra to let go.  Even better... Semin and Doan can be had for the cap room of Nash plus Tootoo.  It would be cap friendly over the short term.  

In the end, this offseason has made our cap situation worse over the medium term and did not fix our forward situation but made it worse.  The Defense got worse, so we need to compensate anyways necessary.  I know you all are demanding D... but there is no way to do it as of right now.

Letting Semin slip through your fingers when there is so little in terms of risk... and letting him go to a rival... is FOOLISH.  Worse than that, it is negligent.  I want Holland to retire, but I would force it if he misses on Semin and Doan.  I will be upset if he misses on either, but both requires action. I would rather let Nill sit and wait for the youngsters to come up and see what he can do.

I will be mad if the Wings make a trade. There is no one I want to give up from the farm or team save the worthless ones.
People shouldn't panic, the team shouldn't overpay.  They will be fine and Smith/Kindl will work as fine as anyone.  We won't replace Lidstrom this way but that wasn't going to happen anyways.  

This was the worst offseason of the cap era without a doubt. I don't care about not getting Parise, but Suter hurts.  I wanted Weber more than all three of them so I hope they SIGN him next year without a trade.  


The farm is too good to touch.Keep signing bodies for compettion but don't overpay anyone.  I would love to see us sign Muller, Semin, Rozsival, Carle, all to short term deals and hopefully they win jobs without costing us anyone.  Trade roster players if need be, but leave the farm alone.  The best part would be if we brought in more people we can bounce Tootoo to GR and let him rot.

I like this signing, We needed grit and lets face it he does have some skill. Everyone hated Bertuzzi back in the day and now he is a fan favorite and there is no reason why Tootoo cannot follow in those footsteps. We all deserve a second chance and there is no reason why Tootoo shouldn't get one.

Everyone in here is a moron.  The only reason people hated to play him is he is dirty and plays dirty.  He doesn't make the team better, he won't win us any games.  He doesn't even deserve a third of the salary they just paid him, and there was a chance he wouldn't have signed ANYWHERE!  He was a a healthy scratch in Nashville where they have no forwards to speak of and paid Gaustad 3.5 to fill Tootoo's roster spot.  HORRIBLE# MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We could have given a player 7 million over two years no problem, but that is what Sammy, Bert, and Tootoo are making now...

I swear to god, what a waste of money.  I have never been more livid over signings.  No signing has ever angered me more than that dirtbag Tootoo.  I am so pissed off at the choices and the cap management.

Tootoo was a healthy scratch on a team that was BETTER than the one we had WITH Lidstrom.  I have never been more pissed at the Wings.  I have never gotten THIS MAD.  I want him gone NOW.  THIS IS THE SECOND WORST DAY IN WINGS HISTORY.

Now we need a sniper to help finish. Semin. Parise? Maybe even jurco if he gets brought up

Jurco is NOWHERE near being brought up.  Tatar is several spots ahead of him at this point.

I wouldn't mind Semin at Franzen money, and I would love Doan.

Detroit doesn't want to get rid of their old players.  They tend to still contribute and play for less money while being leaders.

I think this increases the likelihood of a trade tonight.  With Brunner and Eaves in the fold... the progression of Emmerton, and the extra pieces that are around...  I could see some moves.

Also, How awesome would a Helm, Brunner, Mursak line be???  Fast as hell with a ton of skill that is almost second line, but not quite there.  Would make for an excellent third scoring line.

It hurts my head because he makes it sound like he was taking a paycut to leave Detroit to go somewhere where his playing is improved or his chance to win is worth a paycut. I took the 4% paycut and 3 years as bad pay and term for someone who deserved a raise, but was stuck because everyone knew to be with his family he HAD to sign in San Jose.

I am really disappointed in the Sharks for negotiating him down.   If anything they should give him a raise and put in the contract that 60% of the raise must be given to the wife to do whatever they want.

I am happy he will be in a home again with his wife.  I just dislike them putting the screws to him.  I assumed he was in line for a raise in Detroit, and I expected the same from the Sharks.

This is how the world continues to get worse.  Just keep letting people get away with whatever they want.

It confounds me how much people are defeated about things that can be fixed.  You know every single rape case is hearsay.  Might as well not try with those.  

You know what, every police investigation starts with hearsay.  Hey, this guy has a motive let us go ask that person questions and look for hard evidence to build a case around.  You know what, even though there is a credible source to follow, it is hearsay and we might as well not look into it.  

No big deal.  


These are rules, if you make them you should enforce them.  Sure it is hearsay, maybe it is false and maybe they can't ever prove it.  I don't see why you would not try.  It doesn't hurt anything to look into it.  In the very least if it was a lie and you look into it, we can ignore Nanne for the rest of time.

The only thing that lets some people get away with whatever they want is the indifference of man.  Keep being indifferent, it just makes you look weak and pitiful.  Make all the posts you want about not bothering, I would wonder what you would say to that if you were the victim of some bending of rules.  If a coworker took credit for your work, or you got blamed for something and no one bothered to look into it because it would just be word vs. word.

You really want a world that works that way?!?!?
