I don't like the change.  Ugly... better than the cow head thing they tried once, though... the Moo-terus, as we called it locally.  I don't have time to scrounge up an image, but that design was atrocious.

I'm sorry to all the left leaning folks on this board...but I'm sick andf****** tired of the pussification of this game.  

 

NBC can just go and fail as a TV network.  

 

Let's start showing hockey on A&E, at least they show folks shooting guns, fighting alligators and beavers and peeling the skin off of small furry creatures.

 

Or better yet...the History Channel...they have a show that is 100% sword and axe fighting Scandinavians.

God that first line is going to be rough to play against.... absolutely no space with Burns and Thornton together on a line. They have been doing better of recent so no better time to remind them to stay down there! Good job HT as always!

I spoke with Hockeytown0001 and I am filling in for his usual fantastic GDT work for tonights game as he is helping with his Mom's father who could pass any day now. Best wishes to him and his family. I hope he's back posting his work soon.

Last nights whining from Canucks fans has inspired a new GDT for me.

Hockeytown0001 already does a fantastic job with them here so mine won't be necessary, but here is the header, which I'll add the rosters/stats and standings to.

Yes, the scoring touch is nice, and if he keeps up the scoring and becomes a threat from the blue-line, I'll gladly eat my words.  However, he's still error and penalty prone (although not as bad as previous seasons).  He's slow to the puck, doesn't use his size at all, and is LESS physical than Pavel Datsyuk.

 

I do give Ericsson credit for dropping the gloves with the one dude a couple games ago, although Tootoo, intercepted the fight.  I was looking forward to see what it would look like to see someone punching down at someone as they ponder how large of a mistake they made.

 

Hopefully Kenny will prove me wrong again on Ericsson.

Wow.  When I left the score was tied.  I was shocked to see the outcome. 

Man Luongo needs to get out of Vancouver.  Sounded like he was awful tonight, but leaving him in for the whole game is telling.  As is yanking him last year against the Kings when he was playing well. 

Good luck with that contract though.

Who does that when trying to pin a player?  The majority of players....this is the current technique being taught (i.e. lifting your leg up in between your opponents legs).  Complete fluke that his skate came down made contact with an unprotected spot on Karlsson's leg.

 

I think it would take a complete pyscho to do that on purpose.  Maybe Cooke is a pyscho and he did do it on purpose, I don't know, but I think that would be a gigantic leap to make and I think pretty much everyone close to the NHL (except the OTT org.) agrees that this was a normal, multiple times a day play that ended badly.

So lifting your leg SKATE FIRST is currently being taught?  I don't think so.  Surely an NHL caliber player of numerous years in the league knows how to properly perform pinning another player against the boards without stomping his foot skate-first into the opponent's leg.  It's not like Cooke had another player checking him to knock him off balance or anything, he had all day to initiate and properly pin Ottawa's best d-man against the boards without the skate blade making contact.  Unfortunately he did not and it wasn't some damned accident.

Using consensus among NHL and tv "experts" is laughable.  They will simply fall in line with the league's decision because we all know who affords their paychecks.  This isn't the first time, and it certainly won't be the last that they royally screwed up.  The Sens owner and GM are absolutely right.  Cooke is a piece of s*** and shouldn't be in the league.  He's had enough f***in' chances.
