#2322646 Your thoughts on Sergei Fedorov

Posted by Hockeytown0001 on 28 July 2012 - 12:59 PM

My second favorite player ever. I was upset when he left, but don't hold it against him in the long run. His career did become somewhat irrelevant after he left, so it ended up a bad move for him more than the Wings.

I would retire his number if I was running the team, but based on their precedent I wouldn't (I sound like a judge). The guys they retired basically spent their entire career with the Wings. I mean they didn't even retire Red Kelly's number, likely for that reason. It's a strict policy, but that's how the Wings do it.

Terry Sawchuk also played for Toronto, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.

I won't lie I had the white Nike roller blades cause of Fedorov lol

I also wore #91 playing hockey growing up because of Sergei.

Reflecting on his NHL career, I know he'll always be remembered as a Wing. I was extremely bitter after he left, and I was also at his first game back in Detroit on December 3, 2003 where he was booed mercilessly every time he touched the puck.

Does he deserve to have his #91 retired by Detroit? Ultimately, I'd have to vote yes.

Sour grapes guys, sour grapes. Don't worry, we'll take it easy on you this season :tease:

I must have missed something....what position do you play for the Wild?

Does this mean an offer sheet is being drawn up for Weber?

Love the Monster, had a crap deal in TO but think he'll flourish here...

Francois Allaire (their goalie coach) won't be coming here, so he should be good.

I'm disappointed he left and the reasons surrounding it, but respect his choice to want to be closer to his family.

Jagr continues to troll hockey.

Don't let the door hit you on the ass Stuart. I don't feel bad for anyone who makes multiple million dollars a year in a occupation that is not family friendly and then complains about not getting to see their family. If he really wanted to see them more he'd just retire.

Uh, what?

Apparently you don't have a family.
