#2271912 3/19 GDT : Capitals 5 at Red Wings 3

Last time I checked Babs isnt trying to cheer us up or get US motivated. I dont think his motivational speeches are very PG. Hell he said that he doesnt want to be on 24/7 next year cause he doesnt want his kids to hear what he says. I believe something like, "Theres things said in the Locker room Id prefer werent repeated"/

Last time I checked the NHL is a business, the premise of a business is to satisfy the customer, so perhaps a good idea would be to reassure the customer that the faults in the product are going to be remedied not stay the status quo.

????

Mickey is the only source of optimism to be had in an otherwise horrible situation. He always says that theres light at the end of the tunnel, too bad its an oncoming freight train

I would have more respect if he actually called it like it was. Instead he sounds senial talking about bad bounces and buls***. Everyone here knows we will turn it around at some point, but don't glaze over how pathetic the play is.

Babcock: "just do things right" really Babcock? That's what youf****** say? Do things right? They haven't done s*** right in a month, good pep talk, that really motivates us fans.

This has gone on far too long. Time for a change.

Not how the wings work. Their theory is if it isn't working just keep doing it, then if it doesn't work..keep doing it some more... But finally if it doesn't work sign it to another 2/3 year contract to a "Cap friendly" price while much more useful players sign for less around the league. Or just keep those lines the same because if they don't work, well someday they will score a goal.

Agreed 100%. Since we don't fight much, thank goodness for Datsyuk because he is probably the most entertaining player in hockey.

At least we have a gritty Canadian boys like Dan Cleary and Todd Bertuzzi out there....

Don't worry....Washington is probably tired from playing and traveling last night so we will wear them down....oh wait. Well, at least we play a real crappy team next....wait again.

The plan is to make them tired from scoring so many goals in the 1st and 2nd that we will rally back from 19 down in the 3rd. Lead by our beastly 3rd and 4th lines, namely Homer and Cleary...

These guys aref****** garbage. f*** playoff seeding; these bums don't deserve to get in.

I hope Holland uses his cap space on some more reclamation projects and pulls a laundry list of excuses out of his ass to justify it.

Back to the drawing board, this thing isn't working anymore.

maybe they can talk Modano out of retirement for us, because that's about as big a ballsy move as he ever makes. Or possibly offering Parise $3 mill then offering Hulder $6 out of loyalty

can't wait for Babcock to address the media and do nothing to make the fans feel better about his team playing like absolute s***.

But the Sharks can mug Howard.

by mugged do you mean pushed into Howard by Abs, who then proceeds to jump on him?

So I take it you love Cleary and everything he stands for. Why don't you tell us how you really feel? I can't stand the way he plays either. He's so weak on the puck and the skates.

Dan Cleary is such a bad player that it almost makes me think he is a bad person as well...

Ken Holland is the best GM in the league and about every other person that knows anything about the NHL would agree. The Red Wings are in a slump... it happens to every team! To top that, we have guys getting injured left and right... it is very hard to win when you are missing key players, and almost every game someone else is getting hurt... it messes lines up and so on. I am very confident with the fully armed and operational Red Wings team come playoff time.

The one thing that does bug me a LOT is DAN CLEARY! He does not deserve to wear a Red Wings uniform this season at all. I know his knee is effed up but that is affecting his game so much that he is REALLY BAD almost every shift. If that isn't bad enough, Babs puts Cleary with a returning from injury PASHA?! All that is gonna do is slow Pasha down because Cleary is useless. Pasha deserves a better linemate than CLEARY! IMO Miller has done his job fantastically this year and deserves to play with Pasha a hell of a lot more than Cleary. Cleary needs to be benched.

You have to admire the Wings effort to come back tonight and I am fully confident that we will win at least 7 or 8 of our remaining 10 games. Hopefully come Monday we get good news about Nick and then everything will fall into place. Have faith Wings fans we have a team full of guys who knows how to win... we will win.

He doesn't play like he is injured, he plays like someone who just doesn't give a f***. All the opposing team has to do when that f*** has the puck is just sit behind goalie because he's going to dump it to them, or just give a slight rub out and the puck is theres. Not to mention his defense is just pathetic, a small like wack with a stick and he feels that's about as much energy as he need to exert. f*** Dan Cleary, Every player in both locker rooms should just line up and be allowed to punch him in his stupidf****** face.

#2270869 $35 All YOu Can Drink in Tampa

Posted by ben_usmc on 17 March 2012 - 11:05 AM

Oh good. Just what sporting events need - more drunks. Letting people drink themselves into alcoholic stupors is totally responsible, and not at all going to affect the quality of the game for those unfortunate enough to be seated near these people.

Oh good someone else bitching other peoples good time.

I feel for you, that definitely blows. Imagine how Hank and Fil must feel, like "really, just us then? ok..."

So to recap: the regulars are playing like s*** but its because of injuries, the powerplay has been the worst in the league in the past 41 games but its because of injuries, they are continuing to plummet below .500 on the road but its because of injuries, in the meantime, near losing home ice in the playoffs, but again, because of injuries.

But its OK that Franzen phones it in every game because he is just so super-duper clutch that it is beneath him to get up for these "lesser" games, it just bores him. I mean he is leading the team in goals, so he doesn't really need to do much beyond pot a gimme here and there, ala Hudler. Statistics are really all that matter, because who has the time to watch the games, especially the late ones like tonight?

Can't wait until Datsyuk comes back so we can have 3 players in the top 6 who skate instead of just 2, that and we can pad Mules stats some more. And when Lidstrom comes back eventually from his ill-progressing bone bruise, White will become a player again, instead of a pylon. And when Eaves returns from his concussion we can have a fourth line with three skaters, instead of a slow skater, a fast skater, and an empty #48 sweater. And when Ericsson and Kindl heal up they can sit more comfortably in the press box, which will be a nice change of pace.

Don't worry, help is on the way and it will be ALLLLL better.

Post-game Mike Babcock: "I hope the people in Michigan were already sleeping."
http://twitter.com/#!/freepwings/status/180156189173219328

Didn't you know stats mean everything?

I mean Dan Cleary had 26 goals last year so he automatically was a great player for us :yowza: :yowza:

Im pretty sure we all knew a slump was coming, we were certainly due for one and with our list of injuries it's a no brainer. That being said as long as we have Dats, Lids back for the playoffs (and in form) we will be in good shape...I fell asleep before last nites game apparently I wasn't the only one :hehe:

The slump does suck, but that would be tolerable if the team did something. Anything... At least look like you give a s***

We'll almost certainly end up either 5 or 6. I'm actually rooting for 6th though...we'd have an easier opponent (Dallas). We're on a horendous streak, but there's no reason to be too negative. We all know that the Wings can play better, and often do for the playoffs. If we play Dallas I'm pretty confident that we'll at least win that round.

Perhaps that's blind optimism, but you've got to find some hope somewhere here...

sadly enough I must agree with sandbagging the last few games. I seriously would rather play anyone the Preds.
