We'll almost certainly end up either 5 or 6.  I'm actually rooting for 6th though...we'd have an easier opponent (Dallas).  We're on a horendous streak, but there's no reason to be too negative.  We all know that the Wings can play better, and often do for the playoffs.  If we play Dallas I'm pretty confident that we'll at least win that round.

Perhaps that's blind optimism, but you've got to find some hope somewhere here...

like I said there's always an excuse for Cleary, hef****** blows. Some how Hudler gets reemed even though he can score, yet when someone says Cleary has blown the last few years everyone jumps on his goals scoring last year.  Cleary has been a floating piece of s*** for 2 to 3 season now, I wish we could cut him.

This team is a joke right now. No compete level, no intensity, no skill, no nothing. Dano's playing on one leg, he should just get surgery already. Bert, Franzen, Hudler, Emmerton are doing absolutely nothing out there. The D is leaving Joey out to dry, and he hasn't been that great anyways. I'm afraid that this is more then just missing Lidstrom and Datsyuk, we'll be in 5th place by tommorow night and it's not looking good. This is the worst possible time, to be thisf****** bad.

That sucks, but holy s*** some of you are so over emotional. It sucks but these things happen ALL the time in sports, it's f'n stupid someone would fight over a sports team (considering none of us actually play for them)but EVERY city and majority of popular sports have s*** like this happen.  Plus we are only hearing one side of the story, not that I'm saying he's lying (most likely is very accurate, compared to whoever did this justification).  But it would be interesting to actually see this go down, as in did he say something back, or make some sort of action that set these guys off.  Or were the guys just drunk assholes that you see outside South U on a Saturday night.

Cleary has been damn near worthless the last 2 years.  He just skates into the zone and then loses the puck in the corner, or takes a shot from below the face off circle, making any rush pointless. Mule is lazy and it's really annoying, but like everyone else has said, depending on his playoffs will mold more defining opinion.  Bert I think looks decent, wish it was a 1 year contract instead of 2, but he's alright.  I'm not sure all the Hudler hate, he looks like he is always working his ass off, but physically gets owned, and takes bad penalties, I just don't think it's for a lack of effort.

Cleary has been doing very well on a line with Conner. He's not the Cleary we're accustomed to, but he can still contribute a lot.

personally I have thought Cleary has been overrated for a while. But since he's been moved down he's done awesome.  Conner is a beast out there, him and helm are a really fun duo to watch.

Ferraro doesn't have the defensive prowess to compare to Helm. Considering we had the pick in 2009 that eventually got Carter Ashton (13 goals for Norfolk this year, compared to four for Ferraro in GR), I'd say trading down a sniper from the late first round (Ferraro and Nestrasil for Ashton) to get a third-liner will probably end up being a mistake.

makes sense, he was the only one who looked like an NHL on a line with Franzen/Bert so we can't have any of that on this team.
