#2428511 Abdelkader Hypothetical

55 points?

Guy scored 3 points in 12 playoff games, playing on the top lines.  He's not an offensive player and has hammer hands.

Babcock needs to put this guy on the lower lines where he belongs.

Lower lines, not on the team....

12 other teams want Cleary? There is a god!

LOL please God let Cleary cash in.  The one time I hope a player feels no loyalty to the Wings!

#2425452 Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi

I know I'll probably get flack for this but I'm okay with him re-signing Cleary if it's for a decent price. The guys a warrior and in spite of how people discount all his points, he was second only to Z in playoff scoring.

It just needs to be at good value, short term, and he should play fewer minutes.

re-signing Sammy on the other hand, I'm still ticked about. And now even if Holland wants to he may not be able to buy Sammy out because he's "injured."
True. It would've been what, something like $23 million tied up through 2021 AND having to re-sign Datsyuk?

It's a decent value for those guys now but the team loses so much flexibility for future moves.

IMO he had 1 good half playoff series in the last 2 years.  Other then that, his favorite move is get the puck, pin it to the corner half way up the boards, and then let the dman take it away and throw it out of the zone.

Posted by ben_usmc on 26 June 2013 - 03:01 PM

I wonder if they would be filing this if their son didn't get his ass kicked. Can't really say I feel sorry for him, I know the other guy certainly went full retard, but still IDK i just can't get behind an assault charge being used in this case. Perhaps the roller hockey incident but not so much this.

You don't let players like that walk

#2420150 3 1sts for 1st Overall?

Posted by ben_usmc on 16 June 2013 - 08:58 AM

Avs fans/team are convinced they are 1 dman away from the playoffs.  Whether that maybe true or not, under those ideas I wouldn't trade a potential generational dman (who already has a relationship with the team).

Also this team will be hungrier next year, knowing they so far have been the toughest Chi has seen so far but had the least experience.  For people have been following the minor league at least during  the playoffs, the future of the Wings is really bright.  This team will be scary with Tatar up next year, and if Jurco can continue with his playoff abilities he may force some hands.

#2416280 Wow... Danny Cleary

Posted by ben_usmc on 30 May 2013 - 04:31 PM

Go fricking figure.
Will this shut the Cleary cretins up?   Will this get them off his back?
Nawww....Hell, he shoulda been scoring goals even with a broken back.
And don't tell me that was only for the last two games.  Did any of you see him let up?  To all of you Cleary haters out there, move on and get.a.life.  Pick on someone your own size because you'd never ever fit in his skates.

Not unless it was separated in game 1.  Cleary was terrible all year, and needs to no longer be on the roster

props to him for playing through so much pain though.

#2413964 Trade Smith ASAP!

Posted by ben_usmc on 28 May 2013 - 09:31 AM

Smyth by far was the worst player on the ice, in the series, and perhaps the entire playoffs. He deserves all the s*** he gets, he played terrible.  But he's young and he is like every other Wings dman through the system looks like bust to most.  In about 2/3 years he will be praised.

Right now he should be slapped though

#2412363 Id never seen something like that, that big,'' Keith said.

Dumbcan Keith quote.  He just sounds dumb.

“Isn’t it supposed to be a penalty when their fans are throwing things on the ice?'' Keith said. “I think it’s in the rule book. Maybe we can get a power play from that.”

man the Hawks have been such victims this series

#2408884 Report: Roy Appointed Avalanche Coach

Posted by ben_usmc on 21 May 2013 - 10:57 AM

He's not another Gretzky. He's had a lot of success with the Quebec Ramparts and shown that he deserves the job regardless of his playing career.

I imagine Juniors is far different then NHL

Posted by ben_usmc on 16 May 2013 - 10:08 AM

Yep. It's all on Danny. Forget the fact that there were consistent and incessant f***-ups all over the ice last night by every one of our guys except Howard. This Cleary crap has become weirdly obsessive and way over-simplistic. And NO. I do not agree that he is consistently the worst player on the ice.

That's fine, I think a majority disagree with you though.  He was responsible for a 2 goal swing alone (Not shooting/not covering his man).   Anytime he touches the puck he turns it over, he will try to skate into the zone, dump it to them, or trap himself against the boards and have it taken.

#2405796 What does Babs do?

Posted by ben_usmc on 16 May 2013 - 09:41 AM

Cleary is the worst player we've had in a while.  I think the only reason he has points is because pucks bounced off him.  I swear he is the Brandon Inge of The Red Wings we can't get rid of this guy.  Tootoo couldn't possibly be worse.

Dan Cleary= Brandon Inge of the Red Wings, when will we get rid of this useless f***?

#2400646 Ryan Sproul: OHL D-Man of the Year

Posted by ben_usmc on 09 May 2013 - 02:33 PM

We have a very promising defensive prospect pool. This Sproul kid is the real deal offensively. I'm really excited about our future.

Oullett, Jensen, Backman, Sproul,  all the tops of their leagues.
