This might not be a popular opinion but Nyquist could use a couple games in the press box.

He is now having a true sophomore slump. Ugh.

#2583480 Matthew Wuest, Capgeek founder, passes away from cancer

It would be nice to see the NHL purchase the rights to Capgeek, all proceeds going to Matt's family. RIP Matt, sad to see something like this.

I'd rather TSN do that. The league would ruin it.

#2573760 Larionov on NHL/AHL stifling creative play.

Great article. No idea what stick crawled up the behind of the poster above me.

Take a look at this clip which accompanies the article:

If you watch video of us back then, it barely resembles the way the NHL is played today. It’s more similar to how Barcelona play soccer. Our philosophy was about puck control, improvisation, and constant movement. Now, the game is all about “north-south,” chip-and-chase. We moved side-to-side and swooped around the ice looking for open spaces. A backward pass was just as good as a forward pass. You didn’t have to see your linemate. You could smell him. Honestly, we probably could have played blind.

I miss the 90s when the Wings played like that on a regular basis. What a beautiful thing it was.

#2562669 Jimmy Howard.......All-Star!

Posted by evilmrt on 12 January 2015 - 01:39 PM

talk about voodoo, geesh! All-Star, Vezina mention, torn groin....ouch!
WTF is up with montser? How hurt is this guy? What a waste of cap space!

It was widely known that Gustavsson was pretty fragile before he arrived in Detroit. This isn't a surprise, really. I'm not sure that the Wings trainers don't share a little of the blame, though.

Really happy for Mrazek. It's your time to shine, kid. Let's go.

#2548750 Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team

Posted by evilmrt on 13 November 2014 - 02:22 PM

This is moving awfully fast for something that wasn't even a possibility two weeks ago.  It's almost as if they've been working on this for years and continually lying to the press and fans.

The NHL has settled on owners for the new franchise:

Think they really haven't settled on a second city already?

They've settled on Seattle, but Seattle isn't cooperating at all...as far as we know. I heard Bob McKenzie talking about this the other day, and his sense is also that the league won't do a one-off expansion for just Vegas....there would have to be at least one other city at the same time.

The only city that fits the bill at this point is QC, but that ruins the "alignment", unless they get creative with conferences and divisions and whatnot.

#2547915 Leafs' Ashton suspended 20 games for violating PED policy

Clenbuterol is commonly used for two things in North America:

1."Performance enhancement"

2. Veterinary medicine, typically for horses suffering from respiratory problems.

This is not at all a common inhaler for human use for asthmatics in North America. And it was never prescribed by a doctor to anyone. Uh huh...
