#2110155 2/4 GDT: Blue Jackets 3 at Red Wings 0

This is a bad trend we are getting into....too many early goal deficits.

Anyone else surprised we still have Hudler on the PP? The guy hasnt been scoring, hasnt had good puck control, and his passing isnt that great either... I would much rather give someone else a shot.

Yup 1G and 5A in his last 6 games is definitely a problem...

The guy has been coming around lately. I say let him keep going.

Maybe the TEAM defense was that good. Defense takes all the guys on the ice working together.

I say the difference was Lilja

If the net were 2 hookers I bet Hudler would shoot to score more instead of always looking for the pass.

#2107209 Thoughts on Salei

I have a love-hate relationship with Salei.

He has moments where he plays outstanding and makes life great.

Then he has plenty of moments where he pinches at inappropriate times and misses the puck and his man causing plenty of odd man rushes.

He is a good value for what he is.

But I would rather still have Lilja.

#2106388 Darren Helm's goal song

The Helm goal from last night, his goal song, his nickname and the return of Archer have all inspired my new GIF Avatar.

Love Helmer's goal song.

He is becoming a player that is very exciting in both zones!

#2101909 Jordan Pearce recalled from GR, JMac sent down

Read that the only reason they did this is because if he stayed on the roster longer he would have had to have passed through waivers to be sent down. This move was simply to protect themselves from losing 2 goalies to waivers in 1 week (Nabokov and MacDonald)

I'm in Philly for the week and I will be proudly sporting my wings jersey in enemy territory all day!

Lidstrom was awesome again tonight.

Eaves played his best game as a Wing - which is saying something since he has had many good games.

Hudler - Keep Going

Mursak - I was very impressed by your play tonight - keep it up

Salei - with the exception of one or 2 plays you were flawless today - best game as a Wing

But the best part of the night was: Murphy "II've got a soft spot for the dog. But you bet I'll be all over those curly fries tomorrow."

#2085114 Cleary out 4 weeks w/fractured ankle

Posted by russianswede919293 on 27 December 2010 - 08:19 AM

This blows...I was pessimistic about how the next 4 weeks were going to go without Pavel. Now without Danny I am dreading the fact that we could easily wind up in 8th or 9th seed with how tough a schedule it is and 2 of our top 3 offensive players out...

If Hudler doesnt start putting up points soon Mursak is going to be the last of his worries, Happy just isnt close to anything people thought. Mursak however Im real stoked for but I hope the timing of his call up,without Dats & Clears paired with the pressure from all us doesnt turn him Leino on us for f*** sakes.

If Hudler struggles and Mursak plays well Jiri may be looking to call in for some new colored equipment to match the new logo on his jersey...

Also this is a great opportunity for Jiri to be playing Top 6 minutes. If he doesn't do anything with it I give up on him.,..

Great GDT except one thing.

Wings will win this one for Murph who will be silent for 99% of the broadcast while he eats his hot dogs!

The guy plays a tremendous game and is probably one of very few reasons the game even got to OT and people still Chastise him for losing the game in OT.

I'm out on that note before this thing gets brutal.

Go Ozzie - Go Howie - Go Wings.

Nice game by Ozzie though.

I'll take 5 out of 6 on the West Coast though.

LOL Murph, 100% faceoff percentage

That is the stat that got him into the Hall of Fame

#2069396 How Long has Huds got?

Posted by russianswede919293 on 27 November 2010 - 08:58 AM

My dearest Flip slappy:

What does Flip do that puts him on par with any current second line forward in the league? With his (lack of) offensive ability and defensive prowess he really is a 3rd line center. I hate to agree with Eva but hes right, Hudler right now is more a victim of Babcock not putting him on a line where he can produce than just not producing because of lack of will. There are very few players who can make the players around them better, we have 3 in Lids, Z and Dats. Hudler isn't one of them, Flippula definitely isn't one of them so I really can't see why people are blaming Hudler. I think Huds and Flip actually complement eachother very well and I hope they are line mates again. My point here is that the real story here isn't Hudler isn't producing after a quarter of a season on the third line, its that Flip is playing with a power forward who is a legit goal scorer, getting second line minutes and power play time and is still on pace for a 40 point season.

Filppula also was one of the Wings best players in a close 3rd period where Hudler was on the bench the whole time in favor of a 3-line rotation...

Why is that, because Filppula devotes himself to playing brilliant 2-way hockey. The more he plays on the PP and the more he gets going Filppula will reach a 50-60 pts per season offensive potential. Maybe not this year, but he will hit it at some point.

THat is about the same potential as Hudler has, and Hudler doesn't skate hard to the back-check on defense.

That is why Filppula gets the playing time.

I love Hudler and want him to bust out and get going again, but right now FIlppula has done nothing but impress me.
