    Brett Hull

My boyfriend met Brett Hull when the Stars first arrived in town. He works at the hotel the guests stay at. Here's a recent pic of him. It's a cell phone pic, but I think it accurately shows that Brett should always wear suits.

    Favorite Hockey Equipment Brands

I'm a goalie. My favorite sticks are the Sherwood kevlars. Very lightweight, and they have a great curve if you like to play the puck. My pads are Louisville TPS, and I got those instead of Vaughns. I don't really like the way that Vaughn pads sit when you're in butterfly. I think I much prefer my old Brian's that I had when I was younger though. My trapper and blocker are Vaughn. Most of my equipment is based on lack of expenses. I'll use a stick until it's completely splintered and unable to be taped back into shape. Heh. Oh, and for skates, nothing but Bauer.

How many here have played hockey?

I started skating at the age of 3. I figured skated from then to the age of 7. I played hockey in a league from 7 to 17. One of the worst decisions of my life was to quit because most of my former teammates went on to play college. I still play drop-in once in a while when I have the time. Oh, and I'm a goalie. I've only played "out" like twice in my life.

After your team is eliminated...who do you root for?

I'm rooting for the Sens because I'd much rather see Canada win Plus, it was my grandma's favorite team behind the wings. Sort of like an homage thing.

you can't push a goalie into the net to make a goal! wtf?! if that were true, why don't we just push giguere into the net every time he covers the puck ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. i'm close to turning the tv off.

Babcock is not a good coach

He's no Scotty. I think that's his only problem.

    Fan response

Now I'm not trying to pick a fight with ya by quoting you. I'm just adding to the ecomonic situation. Like someone said eariler, those figures for housing in Detroit are inaccurate. Living in any house in Detroit is like living in a wasteland (and I'm not exaggerating in the least. Trash every where, roofs caving in and giant holes in houses) Hockey fans live in Metro Detroit. The new houses in my area (Downriver) are mostly 60+ years old unless they're riverside condos. They are still cheaper than what you guys pay for in San Jose, but I'm willing to bet that your neighborhoods and houses are wayyy nicer. The job situation is atrocious everywhere from what I've heard, but every job in Detroit that is worth having is connected to the auto industry. My father, who has worked for Ford for over 30 years was recently laid off for about 6 months. One of his friends was forced into early retirement and now works a job for minimum wage. And I'm a former GM employee who now works for minimum wage as well. It's completely impossible to find a job right now unless you related to someone, and it's been that way for about 3-4 years, I'd guess. I don't know if it's like that elsewhere; I sure hope it isn't. Sometimes, I just think that the poverty in Detroit needs to be exposed because it truly is frightening that it is not really discussed.

    Robert Lang

Thank god other people feel the same way. My brother and I have been complaining about this guy for two years now. I'm so beyond sick of seeing him five feet from the puck, and watching him turn away from it. Rather than hustling and putting some pressure on the other team by going after the puck, he'd rather just float on by. SO LAZY. The only thing this guy has ever been good for, and I have to give him credit for this, is that he can magically be in the right spot to tip the puck in. But he has never ever made a play (that i've seen) or created a turn-over or back-checked when it mattered.
