Was there tonight, never heard a louder crowd at a wings game. When Smith scored I thought the building was going to collapse. Amazing, best fans in hockey.
Thought this was funny, probably a big reason why were locked out, the Wild are spending ridiculous amounts of money on retired players like Gary Suter...
John Buccigross from twitter: "And when Nick senses a big moment, he turns into Kobe Bryant without the trash talk and the false bravado. He is a silent assassin. He stalks, he sees, he pounces. He is one of the best of all time at that. There has never been anyone like him."
Sad to see you go Nick, but s*** you were a great player
I dont know about the average Detroit fan but for me Thursday February 23 will be a touchstone game for the entire season and for both of these teams. Last year Detroit wasn't up to Vancouver's caliber of play and rightfully, did not face them in the playoffs. This year I absolutely demand a playoff series for all our sakes; we want this premier playoff matchup to happen in 2012 and it will!
This game will stage the Western Conference final, and it will end with the Canucks in six.
Ya, there are a ton of Wal-Mart's in this nation, no wonder U of M is so popular. Wal-Mart Wolverines, gotta love em! When is the last time you beat State? Seems like Little Brother ain't so little anymore. Big Brother just sells more hats.
I used to go back in the day, but I have no idea where or if there are opportunities for autographs. But funny story, last time they had the red and white game there was some complication with homers jersey, like they forgot it or something. So some of the red wings staff went out and borrowed a holmstrom jersey from a fan for homer to wear in the game. That fan got autographs from the team.. So my advice is to hide one of the players jerseys and be ready to give them yours..
Even though it worked in our favor tonight, the NHL's new 'catch-up' post-season officiating is complete and total b.s. It's pretty f-ing clear to me that Bettman's given his officials an agenda this post-season, with the goal seemingly being to take as many series as possible to seven games, and to take as many games as possible to OT.
I hadn't seen a thread on this since the post-season started (if there was, my apologies), so I wanted to see if I was alone here (...as a paranoid conspiracy theorist), or if this was obvious to everyone!?
Yeah... makes sense considering all the game 7's in round two... 2 sweeps out east, and possibly two series ending in 5 games in the west. Take off your tin foil hat and enjoy the best sport on earth. Damn this is getting ridiculous.
Saw this article on the Red Wings facebook page. It offers some out side the box thinking based on the release of the NFL schedule. Take it as you will.
Doesn't have a lot to do with the Lions NFL schedule because a winter classic game wouldn't be held at Ford Field, but it rules out other NFL stadiums.
