Complain all you want about about markets in the south with lower attendance, remember that their low revenue numbers come more primarily from the ticket prices.[/font]

And if the ticket prices were higher, the attendance would be even lower

Lidstrom could definitely win, but he's going to need O stats in addition to D dominance and we're going to have to win at least the Western Conference if not the President's trophy. If that happens, then they'd love to pick him. But he's not going to win for just dominating D anymore no matter how good he is.

No we have to many teams that can't pull their own weight aka.Coyotes.

That's the problem, not the availability of talent, the availability of viable sites. They can't compete and they're driving the Cap down because they don't generate the revenue to compete.

In Topic: Was it a good decision to sign Zetterberg

To be honest, that's a terrible comparison. Lidstrom has missed 29 games in his entire 18 year career, to this point. Zetterberg, on average, misses 10 games a year and that type of track record tends to get worse with age. I'm skeptical that he'll be able to keep it up until he's 40, but if injuries or ability force him out early, the cap hit goes away.

The risk is that if he declines, but continues to play, at a cap hit of $6 million (which will still be significant in future years). I think that risk is fairly low, but there is certainly still a risk.

To be honest, that's a terrible comparison. You're comparing a 6 million dollar cap hit today to a 6 million dollar cap hit a decade from now...

No, there are too many teams, not too few. They should shut down about a half dozen.
