    NFL Draft talk

I was frustrated with the Lions last year like everyone but rebuilding is not necessary. In terms of players millen has put together some good tools. He just never hired the right coach. I think Marinelli is the right guy. As far as the draft, I like what millen did this year, focusing on defense. I'd rather have a Tampa Bay style defense (one that stays healthy) than "develop" another QB for the next three seasons. Plus, with martz you don't really need the best QB in the league to win. I think the Lions could suprise a lot of people next year and you won't hear as many "pathetic lions" jokes next season.

    NFL Draft talk

After thinking about it, I think the Lions did okay. When I knew Leinart would be available I thought they should get him, but he's not necessary. Sims might work out, but I agree, they should have traded down a few spots they still could have gotten him. I read a bio on Brian Calhoun on NFL.com and it say Calhoun is great at catching passes. I think that is what the Lions will use him for. Martz passed alot to Faulk with the Rams, even though I love Kevin Jones he can't catch at all.

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Can you imagine the success that Lendale White would have if Pitt was able to get him? Talk about a perfect fit. Can you say 20 TDs??? Wasn't there talk of the Steelers looking at Michael Robinson from PSU in a later round? Looking for the next Randal El already! I doubt they take Robinson. The QB McNeil from Texas Tech or A & M is a good slash player prospect. They might not take any QB/WR combo player and use Hines Ward in that role. Should be interesting because we dont have any huge holes to fill, mostly depth needs this year Reggie McNeal or as we called him here at A&M, "the Real Deal McNeal" is the fastest QB in the draft this year. I think given a chance in the NFL he could be a sleeper at the QB position. Since he won't be playing QB if the steelers draft him he could become the next Antwan Randel el(fast reciever who makes throws on trick plays). But anyone who drafts him, proceed with caution, he is somewhat injury prone.
