don't care. he was a great hockey player, but you can't take anything he says about hockey seriously anymore

you are one sad person. The great one talks about hockey and you believe it shouldn't be taken seriously...Did he piss in your cereal?

#2254642 What Ken Holland should do at the deadline

Posted by Superman54 on 10 February 2012 - 12:14 PM

Were you high when you wrote this?

Was too creative for him not to be, i hope this was a post more for laughs though.
I hope to death we see neither semin or hemsky in a wings uniform, and that can go for kulemin too. Kenny thanks you for a laugh

#2253597 2/8 GDT: Oilers 2 at Red Wings 4

no excuses for not coming out with a W tonight, a first seeded club versus a bottom feeder, just show up. Both club got injuries so a full 60 minute game and there shouldn't be an issue. Living in Alberta i get bitter when we fall to teams like the Hoilers. So lets give em a lil payback, aka beat the piss out of them.

Wings take this one 5-2

Franzen, Cleary, White, Kronwall, Zetterberg

I don't hate Crosby like many on here seem to (Its a game... and he's possibly the best at it right now, why hate) but beating the Penguins 2 outta 3 would be a great feeling! Something about beating the Leafs would feel special too.

#2253385 Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

Posted by Superman54 on 07 February 2012 - 12:14 PM

Did you laugh when someone said the same thing about Franzen, or Quincey, maybe even Howard. Not saying these guys will be elite players, just seems like you don't have much confidence from a player who hasn't yet proven himself a "top six" NHL'er if he's over the age of 24...Again maybe they won't be, most likely not (except even I said the same thing about Johan) but I sure as hell wouldn't consider them scarps just yet. Your being just as pre-mature as someone who believes there is still potential in these players. If I was doing that trade i'd probably ask for Mursak over Emmerton, probably just a bottom feeder too though...

#2251842 How open would you be to trading Hank?

Posted by Superman54 on 03 February 2012 - 12:25 PM

I'll admit watching him this season he seems a lot less dangerous then he has in previous years. But a player with his calibre could turn it around in a game, and have a fantastic finish to the season. Then it becomes a whole new story with Hank come playoff time. Off year so far yes, but then you have players like Flip and Huds who are having career years playing alongside Zdawg. So with bad comes good and again, he could turn it around in a day. Do we really wanna miss out on a heart like this in the post-season ?

I want one or both of the Sundin twins to get Kronwalled.  Time to send these pretenders a message.

Pretenders? I think they follow Sundin's lead perfect, Cupless.

#2195904 Forward lines next season?

Posted by Superman54 on 03 July 2011 - 06:51 PM

This is pretty close to the lineup I've been posting, aside from the swap of Helm/Abs and Cleary/Franzen. One thing; If I have those bottom six, and put Cleary and Helm together, the third man is either Eaves or Mursak. So that would be:

Filppula/Datsyuk/Holmstrom
Hudler/Zetterberg/Franzen
Cleary/Helm/Eaves
Mursak/Abdelkader/Bertuzzi

My lines have been:

Filppula/Datsyuk/Holmstrom
Hudler/Zetterberg/Cleary
Franzen/Abdelkader/Bertuzzi
Mursak/Helm/Eaves

TBH i like the first suggestion there, with bert playing on the 4th line. I just didn't want to have both Holmstrom or Bertuzzi in the top 6, or  even the bottom 6 together either. Having Bert with Abs could actually turn out to be a positive thing, the speedy Mursak wouldn't hurt either. Then Helm and Eaves can play together which seems to do them good, and if Cleary plays as good as he did last year, that becomes a very strong checking line.

#2195261 Wings sign D Mike Commodore to 1-year, $1m contract

Posted by Superman54 on 02 July 2011 - 02:40 PM

to be honest im pretty happy with this signing. its only a 1 year 1 million dollar contract. Its a replacment for salei, and he's not european. Not saying thats a great thing, but what it does mean is that Detroit just got abit more tough and alittle bit more mean. If Commodore plays with his head too and not running around all over the place (which i couldn't see babs letting fly), our pk could show some improvement as well. i hope it works out mike! Now Kenny Bogasian would be nice.

#2025401 Wings sign Ruslan Salei

or this

We would have beat Ottawa, and even though it was game 5 against the ducks, I liked our chances.

But kidding aside, Lilja was the s***. I enjoyed him but sadly all the good that came from him, was followed with misfortune.

#2018718 Hawks trade Reasoner to Panthers for Jeff Taffe

Posted by Superman54 on 23 July 2010 - 05:33 PM

I doubt we'll have any problems with Chicago next season.  I'll be surprised if they steal more than one game against us.

Uh they got him back in a trade.  They didn't sign him and then ship him off.  Huge difference, this happens all the time.

We've been one and done in the cap era too so far.  Come on bro, you call that guy out for living in 2004 and then try to bring up our old championships from before the lockout but then go on to call them one and done?

We like to take pride in the hockey IQ Wings fans have over other fanbases but I read biased stuff like this all the time on here and it makes me wonder.

I would be biased too, this is the rivalled Blackhawks we are talking about, the fans who constantly chant "redwings suck". I don't need to do this insane rant for why i believe Hawks may sink or instead be ok. and rather just simply state "hey hawks, your f***ed".  It's all a part of being a fan, who doesn't show homerism? How high of an IQ  you think all those Hawks fans chanting "redwings suck" have, when technically  a semi finals in 2007, a Stanley in 08, goal away for potential Stanley in 09, and a fair outing in 10, would say otherwise. But you think hawk fans could give a f***?

#2018160 Hawks trade Reasoner to Panthers for Jeff Taffe

Posted by Superman54 on 22 July 2010 - 04:59 PM

Why is that funny? The wings struggled to finish off the Coyotes and then got creamed by San Jose, and they have done exactly what with their roster that is going to put them over the top? Hudler? lol

Top 6- Franzen, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Hudler, Fillpula, Cleary

Top 6- Kane, Toews, Sharp, Bolland, Hossa, Brouwer

Edge= Chicago- 4 of those guys are still in their early 20's

Top 4- Lidstrom, Kronwall, Rafalski, Stuart (Last years whipping boy)

Top 4- Keith, Seabrook, Campbell, Hjalmarsson

Edge = Hawks D is much younger, skilled and faster, but the Wings, barely, only because Lidstrom is still better then all of them combined.

Goalie- Niemi
Goalie- Howard

Edge= Niemi. Stanley Cup.

As far as depth, well, to start, any team that has Todd Bertuzzi is only going to go so far, you can make up your mind as to who is better amongst the rest, Ritola, Dowell, Skille, Meech, Lalonde, Miller, Eaves, Kindl, Kopecky, Stalberg etc.

thats why there are 4 lines in hockey, not 2.
Shall we look at depth
Holmstrom has more points then both flip and cleary, but its ok he can be in our depth list. Along with Bertuzzi who again, had more points then both Flip and Cleary (not saying he is better). For youth we have players in Helm, Abdelkader, Ericcson, Kindl, Eaves, etc. Then the possibility of Modano, and if not the mouse then Miller, and Ritola come into play. Hows the Hawks depth look, remember injuries exist too. Stuart was no whipping boy last year, he was one of our best defensemen for a good portion of the year, with all of Detroits injuries. "Hudler? lol", will get us 70 points.
I don't think hawks top 6 is better then Detroit's either.
But its alright, your keeping "the core".

#2015085 Red Wings Making Play for Modano

Posted by Superman54 on 14 July 2010 - 09:40 PM

I knew it wouldn't be anything less then a Million. TBH I think thats a pretty fair offer, so I'm hesitant to believe its because of the money why Modano hasn't signed yet.
