#2073714 Ritola has inner ear disease

Posted by Crymson on 05 December 2010 - 01:09 AM

What the?

We've got a Ritola thread from only a day ago, he scores tonight so I post about it, and I'm whining?

Your posts about Ritola since he was put on waivers have always been in the context of whining about the fact that Holland let him go.

Okay dude.

He's right. Nobody cares much to see you whine.

#2072921 Shane Doan at the trade deadline = 2011 Stanley Cup

Doan is the face of the Coyotes franchise. They will not trade him for an unpredictable defensive prospect and a player who is not producing. It would cost much to obtain him.

Bear in mind that I do not mean to legitimize yet another of your lines threads with this post.

LOL... Yahoo's image of the game is of Holmstrom tenderly touching Franzen's face.

I know that's not the case, but it looks cute.

Moral of the story.  Never question Nick.

Oh, for sure. I'm not joking when I say that I never question anything that Lidstrom does; because he's virtually perfect, I stow any judgment on my part and assume that everything he does is correct.

This is what happens when you have the best defenseman on earth.

I think Hudler has had his last chance on the power play. He looks absolutely lost out there and is failing to generate anything.

So wings played for 40mins tonight, why not a full 60? too much to ask for?   :ranting:

ROFL. You have such a childish system of entitlement. I pity you.

#2062143 Flippula vs Hudler

Posted by Crymson on 12 November 2010 - 11:55 AM

Yep. Cleary is one of Babcock's favorites, and Modano is not going to sit unless he wants to. Babs has never been a Huds fan, and the fourth line was playing well. So Hudler was doomed to sit with the line not meshing.

Oh, god. This is really bad, Eva. Modano was in because Babcock wanted him on the first PP unit while Rafalski was out, and Cleary was in because he brings more to the team than just scoring. This was made very clear several times by Ken and Mickey. Hudler was simply and very clearly the least useful player on a successful squad for some time. Babcock could have simply continued scratching him, but instead he sat other, more valuable players, gambling that he might be able to get Hudler moving on the scoresheet. Hudler being scratched never had anything to do with any imaginary dislike Babcock may have for him.

Yeesh. Like I said, try harder.

#2062004 Flippula vs Hudler

Posted by Crymson on 12 November 2010 - 01:03 AM

Yeah he thrives off that.  He likes to fancy himself as a martyr for who he thinks is underrated.

I think this is all a function of Eva's pathological unwillingness to back down on an discussion claim, even when that clearly is clearly ridiculous and riddled with holes.

That said, Filppula is capable of producing as much offense as Hudler AND is much better defensively AND is far faster. I don't see where much of an argument in Hudler's favor can be made.

Datsyuk is such a soft Euro!!! :P

+1,000,000 for a Star Trek VI reference.

I'm glad somebody recognized it.

If Crosby lights the lamp in Pittsburgh, I won't cheer in Denver. If Luongo stands on his head in Vancouver, I won't stand on my feet in L.A.

Yeah, it's ok for Franzen to be trying hard and not producing, but when it's Hudler trying hard and not producing much on the scoresheet it's "trade that little bastard!"

Must be a size thing.

Franzen has six goals and three assists. He's a +4. He's rightly seen as a scoring threat by the opposition. He is solid defensively, and he brings a good two-way game. He's tough to knock off the puck, and so he's valuable in a puck-possession system even when he's not directly contributing on the scoreboard.  He's responsible and he rarely gives the puck away.

Hudler has three assists this season; all of them were on the power play, and on only one of them--his shot which Franzen redirected in last month's second game against Phoenix--was his effort very significant. He currently has the worst +/- on the team. His removal from the 3rd line--and his subsequent replacement by Abdelkader--helped ignite that line's scoring. He is poor defensively. He is easily knocked off the puck, and so has it taken away from him often. He's prone to irresponsible giveaways in both zones. He is, quite simply, a liability when he's not scoring.

Try again, Eva.
