#2060243 Jiri Hudler Watch Thread

I expect to see line experiments continue until another line of players start to produce with any sort of combination. The only current static pieces to a line right now are:

Z-Dats-
Cleary-Mo-Abby

IMO

Again everyone else should be expected to be moved around until another line clicks.

Helm - Eaves and/or Miller is all but set.

The guy deserves some more time, but yeesh... he has been beyond awful. He can't handle the puck, he can't make a good pass, he never shoots, he gets knocked around, he turns the puck over... what happened to him?

I think we need to take the rotation to the next level once Osgoods back. Let Howard start the periods, put Osgood in for the last few minutes. These last minute goal numbers are ridiculous...

Do you honestly think that Howard could have stopped that? If anything, it was on Datsyuk.

Eva is awfully quiet.

I figured we might as well start one of these, given that Hudler is slightly controversial these days. Here's to hoping that his game will pick up.

Well Cleary is the only one that looks to provide anything useful for playoffs. Even after 50 point seasons he ends up on the 4th line during playoffs.

He was on the 4th line last playoff season because he was injured, and he was on the 4th line in '06 because he hadn't really come into his own offensively yet. He was most certainly not on the 4th line in his other three playoff years here, and he was one of our most prolific goal-scorers in '09.

Modano is showing hes scared of physical play. This line will be the death of us come playoff time unless something changes

The team has played nine games. Relax!

Not sure if serious...

You either are and come across as an idiot, or you're trying to be funny but failed miserably.

Matthias scored two goals in his first game with the Panthers. He turned out to be a lemon. You're being absolutely hysterical. Calm down.

IMO, Osgood is tired and old (let him get #400 and then sit him.) Problem is, Jimmy sucks too.

Aaaand we're back to 2007-2008 LeftWinger.

Just finished watching the game and thought the wings out-played them for the last two periods.  This game came down to their goaltender being better than ours.  Without that horrible 3rd goal we get a point at least.  Oh well - here's to Ozzie staying off the ice as much as possible.

Here's to laughing when your opinion flip-flops again after his next quality outing.

#2054546 Kronwall needs time in the press box

Posted by Crymson on 29 October 2010 - 01:11 PM

nope.  not a knee jerk reaction at all and yes i've watched kronwall in his entire tenure as a wing.  like i said in the OP, i've always been a big kronwall fan.  i'm just in complete disbelief with how bad he's been.  he's been regressing badly and i hope he doesn't end up redden 2.0.  i think kronner's better than that.  but in response to "the mishandling", if that was kindl or ericsson, they're in the press box for sure for multiple games.  i think a benching may light a fire under kronwall, and it's something that is much needed.

Saying that it's not a knee-jerk reaction doesn't make it so. Redden 2.0? LOL. You do know that the deal with Redden was that he was paid $6.5m per year, right? You do know that $6.5m is more than DOUBLE Kronwall's yearly salary, right? Yeesh.

As for your comment about Ericsson or Kindl being benched were they to mishandle that pass... wow. You just keep on making hyperbolic statements. Well, actually, this one could simply be called "incorrect." Empirical evidence is wholly against your claim.

Kronwall isn't playing up to his usual standard, but he's not playing terribly. Quit panicking.

I agree Kronwall was not the worst out there last night. Kindle is pathetic. I have watched Kindle in GR for the last few years. Every time there is a giveaway it is Kindle. Bad penalty, Kindle. Puck gets by the blue line, guess who.

Last night Kindle did not play in the 3rd and I am not sure if he played in the 2nd either. He had 7 minutes of ice time total. I think the wings are noticing what the fans have in GR for the time he played here. Kindle is not the player they think he is. He could not handle the AHL level, there is no way he can play in the NHL.

Last night he was skating backwards at the blue line with coyotes coming at him and he dropped his stick. It wasn't broke. It just slipped out of his hand...

Next game he is in try to watch his play when he is on the ice. If you have Tivo/DVR you can easily keep track of how many times he screws up. Though you may need an abacus because your fingers and toes will not be enough after his first 3 shifts.

I mean no offense, but if you really followed Kindl so much as you're claiming to, I think you'd be able to spell his name correctly.

yea, but how well will you really be able to enjoy it, considering how crowded it will be with so many members from LGW up there?

There might be some accidents.

#2054392 Wings need a goalie

Posted by Crymson on 29 October 2010 - 01:17 AM

Need a new goalie, yes! As it is now, Im almost certain we loose when Ozzie is standing between the pipes. He is not the goalie he used to be..

Some say we need to cut him some slack.. "only four games" ..SO? Save% .885.. Not good enough!

Pointing at the stats is a bit silly. Try watching the games. Had you watched the game the Wings played against Dallas, you'd see that Osgood gave up four goals on 16 shots through a series of horrible bounces and terrible defense.

#2054385 Kronwall needs time in the press box

Posted by Crymson on 29 October 2010 - 12:59 AM

In all honesty Crymson, take this coming from a guy that is actually more optimistic than most on this board, Kronwall's play has been sub-par.  Not all of his goofs have ended up in a goal, but I have been noticing him mishandling pucks or making dumb passes more often than usual.

It is the beginning of the season, however. And, as some have stated, the games being spread out could play as the devil's advocate.

People are acting as if he's a plague upon the team. He is not playing up to his usual standard, but it would be very silly to suggest that even this level of play places him below  Kindl, Salei and Janik. As such, I find the OP's assertion absurd.

Yeah, that sounds like something an old person would say.

"Back in my day, we had RESPECT! None of these kids have RESPECT anymore!"
