#2035987 Hit on Franzen worthy of suspension

Posted by Crymson on 23 September 2010 - 06:39 PM

I really want to see a replay before I call for the head of Orpik.

But I say just put the play in the back of your head, and get the revenge down the road if it deserves it that is.

The fact that he got a five-minute major and a game misconduct is, in my opinion, sufficient evidence.

#2035886 Lilja gets training camp invitation to Sharks

Posted by Crymson on 23 September 2010 - 12:35 PM

Lilja was making lots of progress before his concussion, and he wasn't really the same player after he returned. Some of us may have semi-fond memories of him, but my opinion is that he was--at best--an average defenseman. He fought occasionally, and he was good at blocking shots, but he also had a penchant for making boneheaded plays and being totally out of position.

While some here may miss him as an individual, I don't think his on-ice contributions will be missed in the gameplay sense.

#2034947 GDT: Red & White Game

With hindsight, it makes perfect sense!

Ready the time machine, Marty. As long as you hit that wire with the connecting hook at precisely 88mph the instant the lightning strikes the tower... everything will be fine!

:P

My thoughts.

Owens has a real s*** at making this team as a 4th liner in the future. Speed and toughness, he's like a Helm that fights.

What would this entail?

#2033119 Babcock's Take

We very often take Mike for granted. He may very well be the best coach in the league.

#2032515 Meech on waivers

Posted by Crymson on 10 September 2010 - 11:20 PM

maybe we can him and ritola or miller somewhere as a package deal for a draft pick. at least we get something for them unlike another dman that we got rid of (cough cough) quincy

Ah, yes... another complainer who has no idea what he's talking about. Let's go over it one final time, shall we?

-Meech had performed excellently during the defense injury spell in '08.
-Quincey had been given every chance to prove himself, including most of the '07 playoffs. He hadn't shown any notable offensive or defensive prowess.

If you're able to invent a time machine, feel free to go back and tell Holland this information that he couldn't possibly have foreseen. However, I caution you against doing so, as you could obliterate the space-time continuum. If you don't have access to time-bending machinery, I suggest you simply sit still and accept that Quincey's development couldn't have been foreseen, and accept that when he was put on waivers, he was worth about as much as Meech is now.

Alternatively, you could continue your mindless complaining. However, I don't recommend it.

#2032064 Kirk Maltby nearing 1 year, 2 way deal

Posted by Crymson on 09 September 2010 - 11:33 AM

I really don't see any downsides to this signing.

#2021805 Mike Modano signs with Detroit

Posted by Crymson on 02 August 2010 - 11:17 PM

OH MY......meh

And at 1.25 mil? Stevie Y didn't even make that much his final year.

Gee, now you'll need to ***** and moan at the deadline about how we can't do anything to give you excitement; we'll have no cap space.

You'll complain about anything.

#2021736 Sutton signs 2-year deal with Ducks

Posted by Crymson on 02 August 2010 - 10:09 PM

suttons a uy i would have wanted us to make a trade to make room for, how i don't know, nor do i care

Were you drunk when you posted this?

I'm glad we didn't sign him.

We don't need a big, physical defenseman that can clear the crease.  We're already awesome at that, as we showed in the playoffs last year.

Yeah, sure, because we could have afforded to spend $2m on a third-pairing defenseman, one who happens to be unable to skate. You complain about the most nonsensical s***, GMR. You moan and complain and then you give up in the tough times and scream about how there's no hope. Get your head checked.

What we really need is a 40 year old winger to play on our "Grind Line"   and an almost 40 year old winger who should have retired several years ago when he stopped becoming useful to us.

Modano isn't a winger, and he wouldn't be playing on the checking line. Maltby was offered a two-way contract; quit being a dumbass. I swear, you'll always find things to complain about; you'll create them out of nowhere if necessary.

#2021564 Corey Perry

Posted by Crymson on 02 August 2010 - 01:07 PM

He played for London (where I live) in the OHL.  Everyone I speak with that knew him, played with him, or had some connection with him,f****** hated him.  He had this holier than thou attitude...  guy took to the city like he was Gretzky (whom I also do not like), and acted like he saved the city when they won the Memorial Cup.  Hated him then for the 32 games I went to that season, hate him now.  ******* wish his head would explode on ice.

Nonononnno if he were on the Wings you'd love him! Period!

Heh.

#2021450 Corey Perry

Posted by Crymson on 02 August 2010 - 12:18 AM

Really he's a great hockey player, if he was a Wing we'd all love him. (period)

I would still dislike him. It's pretty silly of you to tell all of us how we'd feel. You're wrong.

He's a weasel. That's what he is.

#2021191 Wings better trade Lidstrom quick!

Posted by Crymson on 31 July 2010 - 10:57 PM

and Keith has a Gold, a Cup, and a Norris.

Not trying to start s***, just saying if you're gonna compare awards like that, do it unbiased.

Lidstrom has an Olympic gold, a WC gold, four Cups, a Conn Smythe trophy and six Norris trophies.

On another note, do any of you remember the Pens fan back in '08 who claimed here that Ryan Whitney would dominate the Norris for the next decade?

#2021172 Red Wings Making Play for Modano

Posted by Crymson on 31 July 2010 - 09:37 PM

I'm starting to think I'd rather have Kariya rather than Modano.

I've been thinking lately that I'd rather have Kovalchuk than Kariya.

#2021107 Setoguchi re-signs with Sharks

Good deal for the Sharks.

He'll be keeping his diving talents in the Bay Area.
