so what you're saying is, and correct me if I am wrong here, that Tatar who has 8 points in 27 nhl games, 7 points in 18 games this season is worth more then Perry who has 214 goals and 453 points in 554 nhl games? right now perry is a ppg, and two years ago he had 50 goals and 98 points, if you think Tatar is worth more then that there is something wrong. I personally wouldn't be opposed to giving up Tatar, Andersson, and a first rounder for perry, he is only 27 and would be amazing on pasha's line

No way in hell the Ducks deal him to a team in the West first of all. Second of all theyre playing too well to trade him. Thirdly Tatar and Andersson wouldnt be enough to get Perry. It would take at LEAST Nyquist and Smith plus a first rounder.

Kevin is 18 now and I assume that if he was an elite prospect we would have heard about it now.  But, does anyone know much about him and his brothers? I cant seem to find any info.

 

I also found it interesting that Nick has 4 sons while Stevie has 3 daughters. Has it occured to anyone else that we should get these kids together so they can mate and create some kind of super-human hockey player?

The Ducks just hamstrung themsleves for the next 8 years. I'm also a big fan of Getzlaf but what does this mean Crosby, Stamkos or Malkin will make in their next contract?10 mil per? 11?

This is what drives fans and players crazy. The Wings and Oilers played a few weeks ago and there was something like 15 power-plays called and then 1 last night. I would argue its impossible for the exact same teams to play that close together and there be THAT big of a disparity in penalties. No one has any freaking clue what a penalty is anymore. Call it or not call it but at least be somewhat consistent. Were trying to attract new fans and anyone who watched the last two Wings/Oilers games would be thoroughly confused. I'm not sure what reaction we want for our new hockey fans but I'm pretty sure "confusion" isnt high on the list.

I have to say. I was thoroughly entertained by all the wild guessing as who the Wings were going to sign today.  Nothing quite like a bunch of guys with no insider connections(Myself included)randomly guessing names and trying to sound smart. Keep up the good work boys!

I would laugh too. Especially since Bogosian plays for Winnipeg.

He purposely allowed all that obstruction and the goalie equipment to get bigger and bigger to restrict talent and skill.

We weren't talking about the trap before you put your 2 cents in but about clutching, grabbing and obstruction.

 

He also oversaw the reduction in the size of the equipment and the supposed calling of more obstruction. I guess global warming and 9/11 are Bettmans fault also. Ridiculous.

I love when people say Bettman is the problem and that if hes gone everything is once again right in the world. I dont like him, I dont trust him but I'm not blind enough to not see that hes the only problem. The owners picked him because he fit the criteria of the guy they wanted. If its not him it would be some guy just like him.

As for this 700+ UFA thing, its scares the hell outta me. I also believe a handful of franchises would fold (Likely all the in the U.S.) which would be terrible to the league as whole, although I admit the caliber of hockey would improve.

The team doesn't need another forward, and Omark wasn't able to even crack the Oilers' roster. No thanks.

I dont understand why people here keep saying this. For the right deal of course its a good idea to pick him up, he's still young and very talented. Having too many talented forwards is not a bad problem to have. That allows the team to make deals to strengthen other areas.

So I attended the Halifax Mooseheads game vs. Baie Comeau last night and it was yet another entertaining game of junior hockey. Marty Frk really stood out and even garnered First Star honors. Frk has been really playing well of late and his shot is, by all accounts, already of elite NHL level. What has really impressed me though is the improvement in his skating from last year to now. I think were looking at a potential 40 goal scorer in the NHL if they ever play again.

If we're gonna dream and go all in. I will add to reduce (or make the nets bigger to compensate for the over-sized goalie equipment) the goalie equipment to the size it was before Bettman became commissioner and encouraged goalie equipment to grow to restrict talent and skill for the sake of parody to give weaker teams a better chance of winning games

Are you seriously blaming Bettman for the size of goalie equipment? Wow. I guess global warming and 9-11 were his fault too.

Ive said it on here many times. I dont like the guy but the lockout isnt all his fault and neither is the size of the goalie equipment.
