Why are the owners wrong for not wanting 18 of their franchises to lose money? We can blame the owners of those teams for handing out huge stupid contracts (And I really do) but in the end it has to be fixed or the league will lose franchises which in turn equals less revenue, less jobs for players and no big TV conract.

This is why this lock-out makes me so mad. The owners were stupid and the players are greedy and have lost touch with reality.

Why do so many pro owner people care about others leagues? I doubt you can receive a concussion in baseball or basketball and footballs revenue is based around a big TV contract, something the NHL doesn't have yet. Once things are getting personal for players, there is more than just money to a story.

All the owners are doing here, is removing some of the troubled franchises if this thing will go over multiple years the midget can look at some empty expansion buildings soon.

Who said I was pro owner? If you look back at previous post it clearly says I'm fed -up with both sides. Also I hate the concussion/injury argument. Barring a catestrophic event whats stopping an injured player from getting a real job like the rest of us? Sure they have a high risk but theyre all well paid to play for a living.

Personally, after reading the Dan Boyle article saying that all the owners aren't on the same page and that it only takes 8 owners to carry a motion, i'm waiting for the owner of a team to come out and say enough is enough and they gotta get hockey going again.  How many of you guys actually think that Ilich wants a lockout?

I love how the NHL's first statement said that the owners voted unanimously 30 to 0 in favor of a lockout.  Wonder now how much truth there is to that or if only 8-10 voted in favor.  Seems kinda sketchy to think that the Leafs, Rangers, Wings, Bruins, Jets, Canucks, Kings, Habs, and other profitable teams and defending champs would in any way, shape or form want a work stoppage.  I call bulls***.

Boyle should have kept his mouth shut. Even if he was privy to some inside information (Which he probably isnt) does he honestly beleive there arent players out there who just want to play and arent in favor of asking for the moon? I am willing to bet my life savings (Granted it isnt much) that there is a MUCH higher percentage of players who just want to play then there are owners who do. This is why the players will cave first and revenue will probably end up being split some where close to 50 -50. Like every other sports league.

The best thing the owners have done is not say anything. Every single time a player opens his mouth in the press it ends up sounding selfish, immature and just plain stupid.

I dont discredit toughness being a factor in winning Cups but to say that the reason the Red Wings havent won the Cup in the past few years because they dont have a guy in the line-up who plays less than 5 minutes per night is just simply ridiculous.

Don is a great Canadian but his time has come and gone.

Sid's most obvious comparison to me is Peter Forsberg. I dont see Sid as a pure passer like Wayne was or a pure goal scorer like Mario. He just does everything well to go along with a butt-load determination.

To me Nashville shouldnt even be part of the discussion. Theyre in the central time zone and should play against as many teams as possible in their time zone.  It has to be between Detroit and Columbus and I have been crying for the Wings to switch Conferences for about 20 years now.

I thought the same thing and yes the brain does block out very painful memories, its for our own good. As a result none of us will remember Jiri Hudler playing a single game this year.

Unfortunately Crosby is at the top, and Toews is somehow above Stamkos.

Lidstrom is second overall for defense-man.  Keith barely edging him out, but I kind of agree that Lidstrom/Keith would be interesting to see if only for one game.

Of note is that Howard has 31,000 write in votes.

It should also be noted, 118,754 of the votes for Crosby, came from a 14 year old boy in a Philadelphia basement.  The other vote came from Crosby himself (I have this on good authority, don't question me!!)

Its very unlikely that anyone in Philadelphia would vote for Crosby, hes hated more than Santa Claus there.

I wouldnt argue with anyone who said Mario was a better offensive player but even that argument is close. As far as defensive play,face-offs and leadeship thats where it isnt close. Steve was 1000 times better than Mario in those areas.
