Just thought of something. Palin still seems to have a hard time understanding what the VP does. She says it is to "run the senate." She is sadly mistaken. Here is a metaphor che can understand. The VP is like a backup goalie during the playoffs.

Excellent analysis, I don't disagree with anything, although I haven't done any number crunching or anything, and I'm somewhat worried about Franzen testing the open market. He's suddenly had a taste of super-stardom what with being the goal scorer of the league the past 3 months of hockey. He's also shaping up to be a rare breed of ideal 90's style powerforward in the new nhl, which could get him some major money in some other team. He may not want to live in Zetterberg's and Datsyuk's shadow and play on a first line somewhere else.

Maybe, but he also has a recent taste for winning the Cup and that taste just might be the one he wants most. We are not talking about Federov here, Franzen has displayed none of this kind of ego.

So when's Pavel going to start scoring a couple?

Remember Pavel isn't a selfish player. I'm betting what is on his mind the most is getting this line to gel. He has been a true center out there and, to me, has looked very dangerous and is making chances happen. Look how he worked on the OT goal! I mean he went in one on three with a fourth on his tail and did all the work. He makes others players better and that's not something you find every day. Dats is doing just fine and the DHH line is going to kick some major goal scoring a$$ all season.

According to Bob McKenzie, the Wings have placed Darren McCarty on waivers.

Yawn. And this impacts the Wings how? It was dumb to sign him in the first place. Charity case. The past is the past, let it and him go.

I would do it.... would you?

I have to assume you are the kind of person who has an adjustable mortgage and stock in Lehman Borthers. You might as well say, "I'd trade the Stanley Cup for Crosby." It's just dumb.
