About Me
US Army Veteran, served 2000-2004 88M E-5. BCT at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and AIT at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. I was a big wheel truck driver and spent almost half of my term at Fort Dix, New Jersey hauling vehicles from NJ to a naval base in Florida.
Born in Staten Island, NY. Grew up in Metro Philadelphia until I was stationed in New Jersey. Also lived in Ohio and Georgia. I recently moved and currently reside in Tennessee.
I was Head Admin for a paranormal and ufo discussion community for 12 years, that included forums and has evolved into a weekly radio broadcast. As our forum community eventually fell off, the radio broadcast still continues and averages 11,000 listeners weekly. I was also primarily in charge of all graphic design work as i'm proficient in photoshop and desktop publishing.
Worked with an artist for Darkhorse Comics on his web page for 5 years, writing articles and video game reviews. I've been gaming since my Atari/Colecovision compound console in the early 80's and still going strong.
Been a die hard Red Wings fan since 1993, all-time favorite player is unquestionably Steve Yzerman. I became a fan when living in Ohio as a kid before the Blue Jackets existed, as the Penguins had come off back to back cup wins I decided to root for the next team geographically closest to me which was Detroit.
I am involved with fantasy hockey and baseball leagues, mainly head to head category daily leagues. I've been involved with multiple leagues with friends and we are now going into our 5th season.
I am also Assistant Commissioner of the NYC Hockey League organized through NHL 13's GM connected mode and do all of the graphic design work, banners, signature designs, etc. We are currently working on a sponsorship from EA games. Homepage link is below, we have a waiting list for anyone interested in joining.

#2305327 Throw the bank at RFA Shea Weber?

Wow...... A top 5 Dman that you guys don't wont because of some ruff stuff..... THIS IS HOCKEY!!!!!! It happens all the time. The really funny thing is, Burt commited the worst cheap shot in hockey history, and he has been here twice! But Weber "isn't up to pair for the Wings"..... OMG.....Some of you are as bad as Notre Dame fans.......
I think for the first time ever I kind of agree with you here. Sure what Weber did was a **** move, but it didn't injure Zett and if it came down to that incident determining if people would want Weber here or not, i'm kind of surprised how many are saying they would pass because of it. Fact is, Weber is still a big, physical, scoring defensemen. What Lemieux did to Draper legitimately condemns him from this team, what Weber did to Zett doesn't in my opinion. I'd still take him in a heartbeat, the guy is among the best D guys in the league and offers just about everything you'd want out of a big defensemen.
I still don't think he leaves Nashville though.
What Bert did was against Colorado, not Detroit. I'm sure if he did what he did to a Wings player he would not be playing on this team.

Just to go in a different direction........ Next C is........Suter? Sign him to a 10 year deal-ends at 37, and breaks the tie during contract negotiations........ Just a thought........
Any thought of them signing a free agent and immediately naming them Captain is ridiculous, and insulting to the guys like Zett who have been with this team for a long time. Instances like this occur when a team is bottom level, rebuilding, and sign a player that is brought in for a leadership role. I remember when the Thrashers signed Bobby Holik and he was given an A shortly after, they were a team looking for direction and didn't have much of any veteran leadership. We have plenty, so much that there's easily 5 or 6 guys that can wear the A so this scenario wouldn't apply to this team.

#2304675 Star Wars 1313

Here's what we do know, 1313 will explore the darker side of the Star Wars universe, not to be mistaken with "The Dark Side". It will follow the criminal life of a bounty hunter and his/her journey through the universe, exploring more of the slums and underground network of the lives of these feared characters.
More details to come as this is still in very early development.

I still remember watching this game at home, back when I still lived in Kansas City. Earlier was the last day of 7th grade for me and I was both excited and nervous...I couldn't believe that we scored so early. When Feds scored, I remember my fork flying through the air as me and my Dad were both eating on TV trays while watching the game on the big screen.
I missed about this entire season and playoffs in 2001-2002 because I was active military and mobilized at the time. I didn't get an opportunity to see any of this until early 2003, I was literally following hockey through newspaper clippings and stats that my brother would mail me. It still doesn't take away from the fact that at this point i've probably seen this game a dozen times and still remains as one of my favorites.

It's the core of this team that makes us competitive and a playoff team season after season. If we finished 5th seed and we are a bad team, then LA and NJ must be awful.
Oh and i'm sorry our 6th round pick Mursak isn't a superstar after 44 career games.

1. The numbers: The numbers of all our 'core' or 'star' players (including Yzerman/Shanahan/Chelios/Hull/Hasek/ect.) are and have been falling in past years save for Zetterberg.
2. IMO, there are no prospects with real star potential to replace these guys that are getting older and watching their production fall. I think Datsyuk is the closest thing to that and even he could be a bust. And even if he makes something of himself, is it going to be Sergei Fedorov something? Not likely.
3. It all starts and stops with Yzerman for me. I think his retirement (be it this year or the next) is going to be the beginning of the end of our ten year run. It always seems to me that when Stevie goes, we go. He's the leader of this team without question and it's going to be hard to compensate for the loss of him.
Great post and an even better point.
