St. Louis is a respectable and competitive team again, why wouldn't they do what they can to retain Stewart? He was a recent addition to their team which has become a success, I don't see them messing with that.

I think for the first time ever I kind of agree with you here. Sure what Weber did was a **** move, but it didn't injure Zett and if it came down to that incident determining if people would want Weber here or not, i'm kind of surprised how many are saying they would pass because of it. Fact is, Weber is still a big, physical, scoring defensemen. What Lemieux did to Draper legitimately condemns him from this team, what Weber did to Zett doesn't in my opinion. I'd still take him in a heartbeat, the guy is among the best D guys in the league and offers just about everything you'd want out of a big defensemen.

I still don't think he leaves Nashville though.

What Bert did was against Colorado, not Detroit. I'm sure if he did what he did to a Wings player he would not be playing on this team.

Similar to the discussions about Hemsky before he got resigned, Markov is one of those guys i'd take in a second regardless of recent injury concern. When he's healthy he is a high scoring defensive threat, and a good leader. If the price is right, i'd take Markov on this team.

Just to go in a different direction........ Next C is........Suter? Sign him to a 10 year deal-ends at 37, and breaks the tie during contract negotiations........ Just a thought........

Any thought of them signing a free agent and immediately naming them Captain is ridiculous, and insulting to the guys like Zett who have been with this team for a long time. Instances like this occur when a team is bottom level, rebuilding, and sign a player that is brought in for a leadership role. I remember when the Thrashers signed Bobby Holik and he was given an A shortly after, they were a team looking for direction and didn't have much of any veteran leadership. We have plenty, so much that there's easily 5 or 6 guys that can wear the A so this scenario wouldn't apply to this team.

Announced at E3, little is known but one thing has been confirmed, there is a new Star Wars game franchise on it's way and it seems like it's going to set itself apart from the rest.

Here's what we do know, 1313 will explore the darker side of the Star Wars universe, not to be mistaken with "The Dark Side". It will follow the criminal life of a bounty hunter and his/her journey through the universe, exploring more of the slums and underground network of the lives of these feared characters.

More details to come as this is still in very early development.

It seems like i'm making similar replies in similar threads all the time these days.

Free Agency is officially one month away guys, all this will be over soon.

I still remember watching this game at home, back when I still lived in Kansas City. Earlier was the last day of 7th grade for me and I was both excited and nervous...I couldn't believe that we scored so early. When Feds scored, I remember my fork flying through the air as me and my Dad were both eating on TV trays while watching the game on the big screen.

I missed about this entire season and playoffs in 2001-2002 because I was active military and mobilized at the time. I didn't get an opportunity to see any of this until early 2003, I was literally following hockey through newspaper clippings and stats that my brother would mail me. It still doesn't take away from the fact that at this point i've probably seen this game a dozen times and still remains as one of my favorites.

I'm starting to get a bit sick of people ripping on this team and discrediting what we accomplished this past season because we got knocked out in the first round. WE STILL HAVE A GOOD TEAM. We finished the regular season OVER 100 points, again. We broke A RECORD for the most consecutive home wins, and yeah, the Preds got the better of us in the first round, and if you haven't learned by now that the NHL playoffs are wildly unpredictable then it might be time to move on to a different sport. We got knocked out, s*** happens. We won't win the championship every season. The Bruins, Canucks, and Penguins all fell in the first round this season, I don't tend to browse on other team's forums but are they all panicking and claiming the end of an era? Are they bad teams that are in desperate need of a rebuild or high value signings because they lost in the first round?

It's the core of this team that makes us competitive and a playoff team season after season. If we finished 5th seed and we are a bad team, then LA and NJ must be awful.

Oh and i'm sorry our 6th round pick Mursak isn't a superstar after 44 career games.  

I bet if they named Hudler captain he would wear a cape to practice.

1. The numbers: The numbers of all our 'core' or 'star' players (including Yzerman/Shanahan/Chelios/Hull/Hasek/ect.) are and have been falling in past years save for Zetterberg.
2. IMO, there are no prospects with real star potential to replace these guys that are getting older and watching their production fall. I think Datsyuk is the closest thing to that and even he could be a bust. And even if he makes something of himself, is it going to be Sergei Fedorov something? Not likely.
3. It all starts and stops with Yzerman for me. I think his retirement (be it this year or the next) is going to be the beginning of the end of our ten year run. It always seems to me that when Stevie goes, we go. He's the leader of this team without question and it's going to be hard to compensate for the loss of him.
