#2535268 Wings re-sign Cleary $1.5 mill + $1mill in game bonuses

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 31 August 2014 - 03:34 PM

You left out the part where you went running after him, pen and paper in hand, screaming "Danny, Danny!" trying to get an autograph.

We know how much you love your Danny Cleary.

#2535218 potential team names for las vegas!

Las Vegas Show Girls Crosby will be the C of that team. He will demand a trade immediately.

Sounds like a solid FlashyG photoshop opportunity.

#2534989 Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 26 August 2014 - 10:48 PM

Yeah, I mean Phoenix is doing so well, let's toss another team right next to them.

So what fun and exciting name are they going to slap on this one?

If any of those cities was going to be the first "lock" to get an NHL expansion team, Vegas is the last one on the list I thought would be receiving one. Seattle or QC makes the most sense.

#2534802 NHL 15

Oh but of course their cash cow HUT will still be there, so they can have their $20 player card pack deals and bank on those every week.

EA has proven time and time again that money is top priority.

I've been playing versus since Sega Genesis hockey games. For me it's run it's course, that's why I loved EASHL so much because it was an entirely different way to play the game. With full human control, there is no "glitching" or exploiting the AI goaltender all game with short side high corner goals that go in 100% of the time if you shoot from the right area of the ice. With the human element there, 6 human players versus 6 human players, it's true competition and team work to succeed and win games.

NHL 13 and 14 combined, I had about 2,700 EASHL games played, got my Legend 3 card within the first 6 weeks of the games release and played it around 5 times a week. Now I gotta find something new to binge out on when i'm bored at night and looking to game.

#2534741 Datsyuk or Fedorov?

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 21 August 2014 - 10:19 PM

I'll be the minority here and say Datsyuk. I won't deny that Feds was super skilled, but he also had a pretty tremendous team around him. Datsyuk would have better numbers if he was playing with the team that Fedorov was playing for back then. Again, no discredit to skill level, sometimes the quality of players around you make you play better.

Fedorov, there is no reason why he shouldn't make the HOF.

Datsyuk, I feel like he absolutely should, I feel pretty confident that he will, but I understand if he doesn't.

#2531747 Hidden Logos

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 12 July 2014 - 03:38 AM

Surprised there was no inclusion of the Minnesota Wild logo, it's both a nature scene with trees and a river, and the head of a bear.

Cool share, I haven't seen/noticed a few of these.

#2531405 So next gen consoles? Who is making the jump

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 10 July 2014 - 10:06 PM

Yeah I just added 8 games this week due to the "Ultimate Summer Sale", including Forza Horizon, Payday 2, Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare, Halo: Spartan Assault, and a few others. The backlog seems to grow more than it shrinks.

#2530277 Please Help Me Win GDT of the year.

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 06 July 2014 - 04:35 PM

Any HFBoards users out there, please support Flashy here and get your vote in. He puts in countless hours into GDTs not only there, but here on LGW also. This is an opportunity for us to give back to someone who dedicates a lot of time and effort for free just for our entertainment.

Let's bring him to the final and get him the recognition he deserves.

#2530109 Hockey News: Red Wings D hunting

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 05 July 2014 - 01:07 PM

Last season, Buff scored 56 points in 78 games, 256 shots, 213 hits and 80 blocked shots. For someone that plays that physical, still managed under 100 PIM.

Just saying, heavy point shot PP guy that rips it on net a LOT, will take the body and put up points like a top 6 forward, i'll take him in a second. Sounds like he has a lot of attributes we were severely lacking last season, especially in playoffs.

#2529241 Can Z and Pav do anything to protest? (not that they would)

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 01 July 2014 - 11:07 PM

A fan perspective and a player perspective are two entirely different things. Who knows what the feeling is in the locker room, how Pav and Zett feel about the current condition and standing of the team.

We are on the outside watching, they are the ones playing the game. Considering the respect levels, the commitment by both players, no. I don't see a thing coming from either player as an effort of protest because the first day of free agent signing didn't go our way. The offers were put in place, some guys took less to play elsewhere. I'm not sure what good it would do to have our most valued players start turning against the organization instead of trying to make the best of a bad situation and win games as they are paid to do.

#2522454 2014 SCF : (2) The Big Apple vs. (3) Hollywood

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 02 June 2014 - 03:11 AM

LA overcame a 3-0 deficit, and knocked out the powerhouse Blackhawks to get here. The Rangers had to battle through Dustin Tokarski to get to the cup final. I firmly believe that it's a LA/Montreal cup final is Price is healthy for that series.

LA wins in 5. They have already climbed over the two largest obstacles they are going to face in this years playoffs.

#2521840 J-S Giguere to announce retirement

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 27 May 2014 - 01:54 AM

I'm not a fan, was never a fan. That usually means they did something to significantly damage us with their skill in the past. Glad to see you go Giguere, but at the same time, part of me was glad to witness parts of your career.

#2521648 Mantha named CHL player of the year

Great accomplishment, here's hoping for a bright future wearing the winged wheel.

#2521221 So we've got a pretty good system...

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 19 May 2014 - 09:11 PM

I'm not sure how I feel about Sheahan being top 5 and Sproul nowhere on the list.

Still, this previous season proved just how much talent we have waiting to emerge, a lot of these guys we wouldn't have even seen had it not been for chronic injuries.

The future is bright, I hope it comes sooner than later.

#2520507 A cap/salary question for you all.

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 14 May 2014 - 09:49 PM

Oh the joys of the offseason at LGW.

No way do I ever see locking up any player at that cap hit a good idea unless he is the literal second coming of Wayne Gretzky and provides the offense of 3 top line players combined scoring over 200 points per season. Who knows what happens when players figure out how to defend against him better, and if he is selfish enough to command maximum contract he is likely the same class of player who will drop off in production after getting that contract. Look at the quality of player we get out of Datsyuk for the price, pay nearly double? No thanks.
