#2490864 Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 05 March 2014 - 04:28 PM

I think people are a bit quick to stomp on the panic button here. What a lot of you aren't considering is Jarnkrok's verbal desire to return to Europe and play hockey over there. If that is the case down the line, Eaves and a 3rd for Legwand isn't bad, especially if Legwand re-signs here.

Look at how many we have injured and Eaves still barely makes the line-up. We have a lot of players that can fill in his role. A 3rd might equate to a bottom 6 forward in 5-6 years, the rarity of getting a gem in the 3rd doesn't outweigh the risk.

A lot of this decision was based around Jarnkrok potentially pulling a Kovalchuk and bailing out of the NHL system. If that happens, a lot of you are gonna feel better about this deal. I'm assuming management knows more about this scenario than we do.

Take a deep breath, this isn't the end of the world.

This trade went from not too bad to awful with the announcement of the prospect involved. Ferraro would have made sense, you know, a guy we were never going to use anyway?

Eaves, Jarnkrok, and a 3rd probably could have gotten Vanek if Jarnkrok is indeed the prospect involved here...

How much value do you guys put on Eaves?! Even with all these injuries he barely cracks the lineup.

I woulda have a pick and prospect for vanek or moulson. Would be a lot more help then this old useless legwand. Needed a dman. Did not help the team much got a center to fill in the 3 we have injured. I rather have Andy first line center. Hopefully we miss the playoffs. Holland fail

He's 33, has 40 points on the season which puts him 2nd overall on Detroit in totals behind Zetterberg. Not sure where the unfounded anger about this move is all about. I don't see Andersson finishing 40 points total by the end of the season.

Putting words in people's mouths is not a good trait...

No offense intended but considering Legwand is a center and you said we don't need him that is assuming in your opinion our center situation right now with injuries is better off than bringing in Legwand. Right now our top line center is Andersson, i'm not sure what else "We don't need Legwand" points to except you don't feel like upgrading Andersson is necessary and therefore he's a better option over Legwand.

If you meant differently then please reiterate, that's just how I perceived that comment.

We don't need Legwand and I don't want him, he's mediocre at best.

Give us a defenseman ffs!

You think Andersson is a better top line center over 40 point Legwand? Let's be realistic here..

I'm getting tired of being amped up or trade deadline day and the Wings doing absolutely nothing. Don't let me down again today Kenny..

He's one of those players who are better without the puck :P

This legit made me laugh

This is what you get when a 4th line center gets 1st line minutes.

#2488730 True detective?

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 03 March 2014 - 03:46 AM

I sent this over to the Water Cooler as the Creative Media Section is more meant for original artwork, photoshops, wallpapers, and gifs created by site members.

I have been watching True Detective, its a very dark narrative so far and i'm very much enjoying it. What I also like is that each season will be an entirely new cast and story line. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey will only be in the first season's 8 episodes.

For those unfamiliar, True Detective is a new HBO original series for 2014 and plays out like a cross between the movie Se7en and Law & Order style detective narrative drama. It's not for the light hearted, has a bit of a twisted aspect to it and can be portrayed as mildly disturbing.

As with any live airing program, let's minimize spoilers as some catch up on episodes later in the week and others have not begun watching it at all.

I see us signing a depth 9th defenseman that will never play like Garnet Exelby, but will still draw excitement from at least 3 people on this site.

We are overdue for an impact deadline move, but I still don't think this is the year.

#2488505 Very Chris Very, Very Osgood...very

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 02 March 2014 - 08:06 AM

It could be worse, he could have a hidden repetitious word that he uses in every sentence, including "like, um, ah, but" or "you know".

He could be like reporting something and then like says something over and over that like he doesn't notice. Once you realize he's saying it like over and over you like can't unhear it.

As he's new to the field stuff like this he'll receive constructive criticism about and he'll get a bit more comfortable over time. I can't imagine how difficult a job like that is.

Could make a solid drinking game of out if, drink every time Osgood says "very" during a broadcast.

#2488502 Naming the New Arena

"3rd Period Implosion Arena"

I don't see it being anything creative, it will get sponsored and be something obnoxious like "Geico Fifteen Minute Forum".
