Would you feel better if we lost last night 1-0 instead of 4-0? The fact that we scored ONE GOAL in our two losses combined doesn't strike you as a problem? It's howard's fault? Like I said, NO. And I think the voting results are starting to balance out how absurd of a thread this is.

I'm holding out hope that Shanahan is still a Red Wing at heart and suspends Lydman for 2 games instead.

The one goal from Brunner's defensive lapse was a snap decision to attempt to poke check it away. The shortside goal might have been stopped sure. The first goal on the PK when the defense failed to clean up the mess and it got popped up top shelf was absolutely no way Howards fault. The cross crease pass and the snap one timer will go in 99% of the time against any goalie regardless of who it is, that goal is not Howards fault. So maybe we lose 2-0 instead of 4-0. WE STILL LOSE. Sounds like an offensive problem to me.

I knew there was a reason why I avoid the GDT. 

Regardless of feelings about it, Abby's hit was the difference maker, caused the major penalty, resulted in the scoreless game breaking goal and ultimately resulted in being the game winner. Gotta play smart, stay out of the box, and come out of the gate every game from here on out with the mentality that we are the underdog in this series and need to play with desperation to win. A repeat of tonight's effort will see our early exit.

Call me a sucker, but I have never turned off a Wings game until the final buzzer unless I had to. I like to suffer for my team.

Sucker! I'm the same way, I watch it until the final second of the last period. My brother used to stop watching towards the end of the 2nd if the other team had a 2-3 goal lead, I won't act like that.

I still have all my original Star Wars action figures that I played with as a kid in the 80's, not in the best condition but pretty cool nonetheless.

I may just watch some Star Wars today.. all this talk is making me crave some original trilogy.

Probably the last one from me for this round, obviously running out of ideas here.

We don't need to start mixing things up after losing the first game of the playoffs. We are treading in unusual waters, we aren't the elite Red Wings anymore, we are the 7th seed facing the 2nd seed and it's not going to be an easy feat to pull off. I believe it's possible but tend to maintain realistic expectations considering the fact that this time around we really are the underdog and will remain so if we advance further. We didn't lose 7-1, we lost 2-1 and we aren't facing a catastrophic situation considering the success of the team we are facing. 

With that said, in this playoff environment and the physical nature of game 1, I wouldn't mind seeing Bert join the squad. Other than that, Sammy, White, they can stay where they are.
