#2458955 IMO maybe the law should be brought into it.

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 27 November 2013 - 11:24 PM

In effort to bring this back on topic and keep personal feelings aside, this opens up way too many problems to be introduced into the sport. Suddenly fighting is assault, the question of "intent" is blown way out of proportion and players like Chris Neil and Derek Dorsett are afraid to play the game they are paid to play due to the potential of being arrested or prosecuted for it. There are entirely too many gray areas when you are considering it's a physical sport where hitting and fighting are currently legal.

I'll side with the general majority here and say in absolute extreme circumstances, like those mentioned above, Yes. Otherwise there is no need to change it, bring the law into it further, and jeopardize the physical aspect of the sport any further. It already grinds my gears that they want to remove fighting from the sport entirely, this would be a fast step in allowing that to happen.

#2456946 What I'm thankful for...

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 23 November 2013 - 03:56 PM

I'm thankful for Helm's return and that his back problems didn't damage his career permanently.

I'm thankful that we aren't all Panthers or Flames fans or have to deal with that level of team management.

I'm thankful to Hockeytown and FlashyG providing such awesome GDT's consistently and that Abdelkader makes such a good woman for the sake of humor.

I'm thankful for beer and pizza.

#2456945 So next gen consoles? Who is making the jump

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 23 November 2013 - 03:49 PM

I'm likely not getting an Xbox One until next year, summer at the earliest. I am on my 5th Xbox 360 console due to failure rates including RROD and open tray disc errors. I'm not going to buy a next gen console until they have been around for a while, they recognize the issues with them and begin to manufacture a newer wave of more reliable systems.

I don't buy into the whole "this console is more powerful" gimmick because when they develop a game they develop it the same exact way for both consoles, they don't write the code completely different per system, they do one for PC and one for consoles. That's why when 360 and PS3 came out, everyone was saying the "Specs" for the PS3 were so much higher but in reality side by side games developed for both consoles look and play identical. No games will look better or play differently on PS4 compared to Xbox One, it's more about the exclusives.

It is very early to determine right now, expecially considering the life of both consoles will exceed 7 years and who knows what's coming out down the line. For me though, as it sits now, i'm sold on the new Xbox console, because my gamertag and gamerscore will carry over and i've already invested so much work and time into the 360 this generation.

#2450124 Helm in, Franzen out against the Oil tonight!

I'm legitimately thrilled to see Helm return, not because of what he'll do for the team but because I was really concerned about the condition of his back. I was hoping it wouldn't end his career, and seeing him return makes me really happy for him.

My species has 180 teeth as we are strictly a carnivorous extraterrestrial race.

The person below me is dressing up for Halloween.

Score goals, win this game boys. The Rags are off to a rough start, we need to take advantage and take it to them.

Wings win 5-1

GO RED WINGS!!!!!!

Good wrap up indeed.. after Dexter I was concerned but i'm not now. Everything got tied up, who went down deserved to go down and it was a worthy conclusion to one of the greatest shows in television history.

It will be missed but i'm glad it didn't get drawn out to the point of exhaustion like they do some shows.

Yup the new "Oil Change," so this season it's probably some other Canadian team and we'll see the results of that next summer.

Oh and I guess the Penguins have:  In the Room

Forgot about that one.

Here's one for the Bruins, called  "Behind the B"

The Blackhawks have one also called "In The Closet" featuring Patrick Kane.

#2437411 Jensen out till December/January after fight with Tyler Bertuzzi

If you make a name for yourself playing rough and being an agitator, and it gets you drafted, that team drafted you as an agitator.

What were the expectations here, Bert JR. shows up to camp and is supposed to flush away everything that got him there to begin with? The reason why he was drafted?

If you work in a warehouse, you interview a potential manager, they show you their managing skills to get hired. You interview a potential electrician they show you their electrician skills to get hired.

The manager doesn't show you how well he can widdle wood, or the electrician their cooking skills. It's irrelevant to why they are their applying to begin with to fill that company's needs.

You draft a goon they show you your goon skills to try and make the team, the camp is the interview process. If you show up as a goon and pretend to be a skilled hockey player you sit unemployed for a long time. Bert Jr. did nothing wrong, injuries happen, it's the nature of physical sports. The entire point of being at a prospect camp is to show off your skill set, regardless if it's a scorer, a playmaker, or an agitator.

#2437409 NHL enforcing uniform rule from 1964

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 18 September 2013 - 04:02 AM

I understand to the extent of having the fighting strap secured as part of uniform requirement, or chin strap snapped into place.

But the jersey tuck, this is what's keeping the NHL higher-ups awake at night? This has been a prime concern lately worth resolving? Give me a break. Revisit the important stuff and stop with the trivial, pointless nonsense.

#2436895 Abdelkader

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 16 September 2013 - 05:08 PM

Abby will forever be the hottest Red Wing in a dress when Flashy makes his GDTs.

Other than that, career 3rd-4th line forward. I didn't much care for him on Datsyuks line last year and would rather not revisit that scenario again.

#2435413 What Are You Playing?

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 07 September 2013 - 06:10 PM

after years of playing pc diablo and a extensive campaign of diablo 2, i bought diablo 3 for the 360 recently and adore it. After picking up the pc version last year and having countless issues with performance running it on a high end computer. I was looking to restore my endless love for dungeon crawling for loot and slaying baddies. I have to say i am more than impressed with the console version, I may even stretch to say its better than its initial release.

I really want to purchase Diablo 3 on xbox, I might do so soon. I played the crap out of the first two and loved them, but the closest thing to an epic dungeon crawler that the Xbox had offered previous to this was Torchlight on the arcade.

I'm still playing Dark Souls.. it is life consuming.
