Posted by MabusIncarnate on 08 March 2013 - 01:25 PM

I wanted to punch the ref after the Wings/Kings game.

#2365947 3/7 GDT : Oilers 0 at Red Wings 3

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 07 March 2013 - 02:16 AM

Change the 2nd line = more goals.

I thought we were banged up, probably the first time all season the opposing team has more injuries than we do.

Howard keeps us in it yet again, wings win 3-1 with an empty netter.

GO RED WINGS!!!!!!!

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 27 February 2013 - 12:14 PM

Glad to see Franzen back tonight even if most aren't, hoping he puts the naysayers to rest for a night and pots a couple for us tonight.

Wings win 4-2 against the struggling Kings

Franzen 2 Goals

Datsyuk 1 Goal

Cleary 1 Goal

Zetterberg 2 Assists

Howard another average win in net.

GDT still upset with a win for whatever reason

Axe starts a new random thread

Mod warning post submitted in this thread at some point tonight

GO RED WINGS!!!!!!

Let's keep it sane people.

#2361279 Kronwall destroyed a glass bowl on my desk with the power of his goal

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 25 February 2013 - 06:51 PM

Your poltergeist was afraid of getting Kronwalled and displayed it's displeasure on your glassware.

So uh.. you gonna finish that chicken?

#2360957 Kronwall = Current Defense Points Leader

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 24 February 2013 - 10:39 PM

Not to mention he's been a +5 in the past few days, but his plus/minus isn't what's exciting here. Lidstrom was a scoring machine, sure Kronwall isn't going to match the defensive godliness of Nick but what player in the current NHL does? Having Kronner step in and produce like this so far is very assuring for this team, he doesn't need to be traded or bought out, he needs to stay right here. The more he's scoring and the more we are winning the more confidence he will build and begin to improve all aspects of his game.

Congrats Kronwall, keep it up!

#2360151 2/24 GDT : Canucks 3 at Red Wings 8

Two in a row, let's GO!

Seven injured or not, we can win games. Let's go out there flying tomorrow, play a FULL 60 minute game and get another win.

GO RED WINGS!!!!

Brunner 2 Goals

Zetterberg 1 Goal

Andersson 1 Goal

Datsyuk OMG moments - 3

#2359253 Kindl +6

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 22 February 2013 - 01:49 AM

What's my plus/minus, out of curiosity? Ha!

If the neg button still existed probably a solid -700 by now.. :P

#2358720 Kindl +6

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 21 February 2013 - 06:59 PM

As banged up as our defense is I don't think scratching him tonight isn't just giving him a rest. If he was paired with the lines that are on the ice the most I think we'd see a different picture. I could live without the plus minus stat and that stat really doesn't say a whole lot about anything.

+1 for you though Axe for finally posting something reasonably positive, still not sure if it needed it's own thread though.

#2357580 2/19 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Predators 4 (OT)

I like it!

Let's beat Trashville please for the sanity of the entire site tonight.

Wings win 4-3 after starting with a 4-0 lead.

Lashoff 4 goals

Howard 3 assists

Hudler 2 assists

GO WINGS!!!!

#2357102 Anyone else getting pissed that the Wings can't hold leads

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 17 February 2013 - 08:31 PM

On the bright side, we're getting off to leads.......

AND we are scoring goals in the first period. Bad news is the other two periods are now irrelevant to the gameplan.

#2356997 Anyone else getting pissed that the Wings can't hold leads

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 17 February 2013 - 07:48 PM

pfft we have NO problems holding leads. Don't know what you are all talking about. See? Tonight we are winning 2-0... 2-1.. okay tied.. oh s***.

#2356758 Howard = Average

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 17 February 2013 - 02:58 PM

I post facts that you ignore. This is gonna be my last post in this thread because it's like trying to hammer a toothpick into a steel door.

09-10

37 wins 15 losses 2.26 GAA = excellent/elite

10-11

37 wins 17 losses 2.79 GAA = excellent

11-12

35 wins 17 losses 2.12 GAA = excellent/elite

12-13

Too early to determine.

Howard = way above average. I'm done here.

#2356512 Stamkos

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 17 February 2013 - 01:08 AM

Not in today's NHL. Gretzky's record will go forever untouched because of how much hockey has changed since his dominance. I like Stamkos, he can seriously score but I don't see his career being anywhere comparable to Gretzky. He's going to fall off in production like a lot of the young stars have once defenses and goalies really begin to figure him out, and the same can be said for other players like Malkin.

#2356311 Howard = Average

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 16 February 2013 - 03:21 AM

From NHL.com.

Yes this is called "the source" but it doesn't answer the question of how minimum games played factor into these numbers. 14 goalies in front of Howard have played 3 games or less, which pretty much puts your statistics on Howard in the null and void column. He is currently in company with these awful goaltenders going by what you are looking at on NHL.com; Miller, Lundqvist, Ward, Backstrom, and Fleury. Statistically he's ahead of Quick, Bryzgalov, Smith, and Halak respectively.

So unless you are considering Yann Danis the best goalie in the league this year, who sits at number 1 on your list along with Chad Johnson and Darcy Krumper who also are on top of the list from your source, the numbers you offer are just flat out wrong. You can't really count one or two games played by backup goalies and throw Howard that far down the rankings, not quite how stats work in this argument.
