Extra credit for random moments of entertainment value. :P

Brunner = B-

Flashes of brilliance, vicious shot, yet inconsistent.

#2383012 NHL 13

Smallish tweaks, slightly if that better graphics, smallish tweaks and an updated roster - 65 $

New commentary not included.. same recycled Gary Thorne and Bill Clement voice over that we've been hearing for years. MIght add a new goal celebration or two and not fix the goal exploits that have existed since NHL 09. Looking forward to it.

#2382121 Anyone else liking the pre 2005 more?

I hate the shootout personally, I think it was brought in as a gimmick to attract more fans but isn't a proper way to decide the outcome of the game. If they ever introduce it to the playoffs and discontinue sudden death overtime it may be enough to turn me away completely. I didn't mind ties as much as I mind a team being able to gain an extra point for winning a mini all-star event at the end of the game.

I also miss the fierce rivalries, we may never see anything like Colorado/Detroit in the 90's ever again. I hate the fact that they are in a continuous battle to push fighting out of the sport, and yes as much as I dislike hits to the head and concussions, I think a lot of players are afraid to lay out heavy hits anymore which takes away from the physical aspect of the game.

And my god do I miss Yzerman and the days of watching him play. I try not to live in the past but i'm not sure we will see another generation of hockey like it used to be.

Wings win 5-2 in a lopsided battle in an epic time machine induced reunion.

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!

#2379890 Shocking, Wings aren't active as trade deadline expires

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 03 April 2013 - 07:34 PM

Can we let Deke play at least one game before calling him "excellent" signing?

Alright, putting aside that I made the point of saying "Long Term" in the post I made, he was an excellent signing unless theres a rare instance that his defensively brilliant game that is currently well above the level it should be for his age somehow becomes lost in the NHL transition and he completely forgets how to play hockey he WILL be an excellent signing? Does that work? Nowhere did I say he would come in and be NHL ready this season, but as a free agent signing for the long term potential that cost us nothing, I consider that pretty smart opposed to overpaying at the deadline for someone like Bouwmeester.

#2372487 Do You Believe In...

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 23 March 2013 - 01:26 AM

I have seen ghosts personally, and have had many paranormal activities happen in my own house, and my old house so yes I do believe in ghosts. Aliens are a bit more tricky, I believe that there is life on other planets, but I am not entirely convinced they are able to come and go to earth as often as they please, or why they even would want to.

That being said, creatures like big foot, nessy, and others, may or may not be fictional. If they can find an 80 foot squid living in the ocean then who knows

I've heard that comment pretty frequently along the lines of what you posted here, about if potential alien life would visit this planet and why would they want to. My response to that is this, and again this is purely in theory, but if we had the technology to visit and observe other planets, wouldn't we? We are in a constant race for improvement of technology, especially for exploration of space and the universe. We build to see further and go further, if we as a race discovered a way to explore another planet, and we had the technology to do so, we absolutely would.

Saying that though, I do believe pretty firmly that 99.9% of all eyewitness accounts are misidentification, and if there are other forms of intelligent life observing us, the instances are extremely rare. It could be something along the lines of an unmanned probe or vessel like the rover we dropped on Mars, because if intelligent life is smart enough to have developed technology to reach our planet, chances they are smart enough to keep their distance from us.

I also really like that you brought up the giant squid idea, because it's a discovery that I love. Parts of these creatures have washed up dead on shore, but for all the exploring we have done of the oceans, an 80 foot squid was seen and recorded alive in the wild for the first time ever in the mid 2000's. It's kind of mind boggling to think that something that is that tremendous has managed to hide from our sight for this long undiscovered.

#2371902 Potential playoff chances projection **Mod Warning Post #10**

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 21 March 2013 - 08:29 PM

I hate the entire "On Pace" argument when it comes to stuff like this.. we could go on a 10 game tear and shoot up the standings, we could go on a losing streak. Depends on who we are playing, how their goalie is playing, how much the opposing team is scoring and what kind of game Howard is bringing to the ice. Point being who the hell knows where we are going to sit once playoffs start, i'm in favor of just watching how the games unfold instead of picking apart useless stats and predicting our future.

Fact: anything can happen in the remainder of the season. That's all we know.

I love this guy, I mentioned it in another thread around here. He's a gritty defensive defensemen, isn't afraid to sacrifice his body to block shots and lay out some heavy hits. I'm completely in favor of this one.

#2369343 Time to blow it up and rebuild

You are about 2 and a half weeks early of April Fools day.. this would have been a lot funnier then.

My palm hurts, and so does my face. I gotta stop opening Blueadams threads.

#2368989 Dustin Byfuglien

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 14 March 2013 - 12:10 PM

I'd love Byfuglien here.. one of my favorite NHL players. With that said, I take anything Eklund says with a grain of salt and unfortunately if he's the only one reporting this i'd just write it off as pure speculation at this point. Don't get me wrong, i'd take this guy here in a second, but i'd like to see more guys reporting it before I get any kind of hopes up.

#2367748 Brunner to go with Tootoo and Tatar?

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 11 March 2013 - 10:49 AM

Zett Mule Brunner

Tatar Dats Tootoo

Score goals, win games, crush faces. That's how hockey is meant to be played.

Cleary can't manage to score with one of the most elite players in the world on his line, time to Ryan Whitney his ass and make him a healthy scratch every other game for a couple weeks and let him try to snap out of it. Play him one game, no points, scratch him next game. Lather, rinse, repeat.

#2366666 Player punches ref - Where is the respect?

I wanted to punch the ref after the Wings/Kings game.
