Here's a couple Lord of the Rings themed photoshops I tossed together, including Gandats and Gollum Rask.

#2511237 4/18 ECQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 @ Bruins 0. DET leads series 1-0

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 18 April 2014 - 09:06 PM

Great game all around. good energy. the Wings played a full 60 minutes, Howard was phenomenal. Datsyuk looked like his old self, Franzen played with some energy and is looking to be in a bit of playoff forum. Helm was fantastic, the kids created great chances and we kept with them the entire game.

What a win, Take the next one and have a massive advantage going home for a pair.

GO WINGS!!

Okay guys, had to pull a few posts here because it got way off track with baseball talk. I love the sport as much as the next guy, but you can continue in PM among each other or start a thread about it in the Other Sports section of the forums. Let's leave this as it's intended, the photoshop war between the Wings and Bruins. Thanks.

Just for good measure, not photoshopped at all, these are really pics as Chara dressed as a pink bunny and Rask as a leprechaun.

#2509466 Preds Allowed 0 SH Goals in 82 Game Season

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 14 April 2014 - 12:49 AM

That's a pretty amazing accomplishment, I was shocked when I saw it was the first time in NHL history.

As always, all hockey related news regardless of team is welcome here from respected members like PredsFan, thanks for continuing to provide quality information in posts about our one-time rivals. Hopefully things go a bit better for your boys next season with a healthy Rinne and a fresh start.

Except Weber, he's still a nerd. :P

Obscure Breaking Bad reference with creepy Rask doing euro-karaoke.

I wasn't expecting this to be up so soon, i'm unprepared! My first offering of many as the series goes on and I rattle some ideas through my head. Just wanted to break the ice on the first page of the Photoshop War.

#2509026 Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 12 April 2014 - 08:43 PM

Please utilize the forum search function before starting new threads. This is the 4th or 5th time i've had to merge an "offseason needs" type of thread with this one that already exists. It helps avoid clutter on the forums, prevents repeat threads, and maintains a go-to thread about this topic where an ongoing discussion may remain. Thank you.

#2509021 Sproul and Ouellet recalled from Grand Rapids

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 12 April 2014 - 08:18 PM

I understand how hockey works, and the logic or lack there of putting these two in against the Bruins blind, I just wish they would have done this a few weeks ago like they have with the rest of the kids. Give them a chance in the lineup, see how they play, Kindl and Lashoff obviously being ineffective and giving up way too many goals, it was worth giving them a shot. This late, it likely won't happen and we'll have a few mistake filled game with Kindl and Lashoff being the root of them, but it's nice to dream. Maybe one of them will play against the Jackets, play brilliantly, and be considered as an option over dumb or dumber on the 3rd pairing.

Kindl and Lashoff out, Ouellet and Sproul in would be the smartest decision they could possibly make going into playoffs.

#2508987 Ryan Malone arrested

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 12 April 2014 - 02:29 PM

Or they could just trade him to the Oilers.

Hockey players are human just like everyone else, mistakes are made, but there's no need to obliterate their life, career, and reputation because of one error. I've felt firmly about this in sports for a long time, the media likes to crucify athletes for something as small as how they word something and it's taken out of context. I understand this is more serious, but the media tends to make things sound wayyy worse than they really are most of the time.

Sheahan was pulled over for drunk driving also, he was 4 times over the legal limit and wearing a Tinky Winky costume. Should he be banished and condemned for life? No, he was young, stupid, and learned from his error as it's not happened again and he's now developing himself as a respectable member of this team.

#2508654 Bobby Ryan to Ottawa

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 11 April 2014 - 03:25 PM

I said it before and i'll repeat it again, Ryan would be another Franzen on this team. He floats, plays like he doesn't care for half the season, and would turn into the whipping boy here rapidly because of how streaky he is. I believe 2 seasons ago he went 40 games without a goal, and had something awful like 6 assists in that span. He was kept out of the olympics for a reason, glad we passed and we didn't get another lazy, uninspired player here.

#2508349 4/9 GDT - Red Wings 3 @ Pens 4 (SO). Wings clinch playoff spot!

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 09 April 2014 - 10:17 PM

Last time we played Pittsburgh in the playoffs, we had Lidstrom neutralizing Crosby. That's the one factor at play here that worries me about the Pens. I feel like they're a team that can be beat, but it's going to be very, very hard for this team. Nyquist, Franzen, Tatar and Legwand are going to have to really contribute to the scoring, because Datsyuk is going to likely get tasked with staying on Crosby at all times.

Don't worry, Lashoff will shut down Crosby and Malkin with one hand tied behind his back. He's that clutch.
