#2453753 Overtime modifications on table at GMs meeting.

Holy convoluted and unnecessary, Batman!

Howzabout this.

No points are awarded for a tie at the end of regulation. Instead, we go to an OT PP dealy.

Round 1

A two-minute 5-on-4 for each side. A PP goal would mean the end of the PP, just like in regulation. If one team scores on its PP and the other team doesn't score on its opportunity, that's two points for the former and zero for the latter, game over - unless the team that didn't score on its PP opportunity scores a shorthanded goal. (Shorthanded goals have the same value as PP goals, except they don't end the other team's PP, just like in regulation.)  If both teams finish even, we go to a second round.

Round 2

Now it's a 5-on-3 for each side. Again, winner gets two points, loser gets zero. A tie would be the final result, with one point awarded to each team.

All goals would contribute to the final score. So, a game that's 3-3 after three periods could end up at 5-5, or as high as 7-7 (each side scores a PP goal and a shorthanded goal in Round 1 and Round 2).

I have to figure out what to do about penalties.

#2436110 Cleary re-signs with Detroit, 1 year, $1.75m deal

He'd just fall down and the octopus would slither away with the puck.

You could throw an octopus at him.

#2435922 Sedin Twins

Posted by FireCaptain on 11 September 2013 - 08:41 PM

I find it funny that its like I'm the only person who dislikes anybody.

If you have to ask, then I'm afraid we can't help you

Irrational hatred for opposing players. What has to be rational about this?

My only gripe with them as players is they're rather one-dimensional, aren't they?

On a personal (but not rly cuz i dont no them imho) level, I call them the gingercreeps.

See, I'm not the only one that thinks they're creepy.

Why create a thread about them after all? I think they are both fantastic player I also like their nickname as "Sedin Sisters" you never hear/read a bad thing about them, Sedins are known to be the hardest workers on the whole Canucks team and they are also the best ones. Hardly surprises me that they can't get the job done in the playoffs, the enemies just have to focus on them shut them down and basically the Canucks are done, they have traded away a lot of good young players and now are basically a one line team.

Because it's pre-season and Wing news is currently relegated to Dan (is he in or out, dammit he talked to Kenny) Cleary.

Then why discuss them? :)

Because one can only take SO MUCH Dan Cleary talk. ;)

#2435202 Datsyuk Robbed

Posted by FireCaptain on 05 September 2013 - 11:53 PM

Totally misleading headline from the Toronto Sun.

Robbery is against a person.

BURGLARY is against property.

I read the thread title and thought he was held up at gun point in Detroit.

What do you mean IF?

And if unicorns existed, what color would he ride?

#2434728 Good things happening in Detroit

A very nice article outlining the efforts of some local firefighters and Nicole Curtis of Rehab Addict.

http://www.dfdlegacy.com/?p=2638

Scroll down and the Wings are listed as donating smoke detectors to the effort. Surprised to see that none of the players were out there helping.

#2433514 Wings sign Alfredsson to 1-year, $3.5m deal (+$2m bonuses)

OP: this is not meant at you.

Where's the big outrage and calls for the NHL to move the Sens??

Wait, just because it snows there and its in Canada, the team HAS to be successful, no?

Atlanta, Florida, Tampa, Arizona, etc.. all lose money and people scream for the owner's heads and demand (as fans with NO input) for the teams to be moved to more viable markets. What about the precious Sens? Should they be moved. The article spells it out, they've lost (and continue to lose) Millions per year.

Quick, back up the Uhaul, these Sens should head to Seattle/Portland/Kansas City/wherever. Someone will build them a new stadium and the new fanbase will love them and shower the owners with guaranteed profits!

Step 1: lose money, move franchise.

Step 2: ??

Step 3: PROFIT!

Not sure this is the actual "nuke" but according to this, the Sens are losing $9-10m a year.

#2432691 Wings Attempting to Re-sign Cleary

Posted by FireCaptain on 06 August 2013 - 10:54 PM

Yeah, but you'd also fire Howard and promote Mraz, so really, what do you know?  haha  :w00t:  :w00t2:  :bounce:

I wouldnt pay over 50 for that.
