Smith's NHL career hasn't even been the length of one full season.
He was getting middle pairing minutes in the playoffs last year, so Babcock must see something in him. Until he gets a full regular season under his belt, it's hard for me to have any idea what his ceiling is in terms of development.
Pretty much agree with this. His sample size is still way, way too small to make any sort of judgement. That said, he has looked very shaky but he's also 24 years old.
Ken Kal and Paul Woods do an excellent job of calling games. Sure they have their hangups, such as Paul Woods calling Kirk Maltby, KURT for his entire career and even in the last few years post-career for Maltby, but they feed off each other really well. It's a mix of my general obsession with hockey, and the fact that they call a great game together, but I really enjoy listening to them if I'm at work and can't watch the game.
When so many players simply do not think or care about loyalty and only chase the money, Cleary was loyal to the Red Wings to the bitter end. Hope you have a major bounce back season with Philadelphia, Clearly.
