#1991654 CBC's Hotstove: Lidstrom to determine future within 7 days

Posted by chrisdetroit on 31 May 2010 - 07:19 AM

if it's more than $4.5 million this team is fudged. If I know how Holland works (and we've already established that  ) He will give Lidstrom $7M, both Bertuzzi and Holmstrom $3M erasing our entire cap space...

Lids $4.5

Bertuzzi & Holmstrom $1.5 each...

Nothing more, this team needs to get better via Free Agency, NOT waste all the cap space on the same team that sucked last season. Oh wait, we got Hudler back :puke: What a waste of $2.8M that is! Little focker couldn't even make his National team for his homeland in the Olympics, WTF is he gonna do here? NOTHING! TRADE HIM!

Uh. We got Franzen back too. Did you forget that he was gone from the 3rd game until the middle of February. Franzen is a 40 goal scorer and Huds is a 20 goal scorer. That's 60 goals. They didn't suck from mid February to the endd of the season.

#1991651 Hossa

Posted by chrisdetroit on 31 May 2010 - 07:15 AM

He's paid to put up points - goals and assists and he's not doing it. He has 0.76 points/game which is 60th yes 60th in the playoffs. The 2 goals in 17 games is pitiful. The only thing that he is doing well is playing defense. His +/- is 2nd in the league just behind a guy whose last name begins with Z.

I am glad that we didn't sign him. Some guys elevate their play in the playoffs - Franzen, Zetterberg, Lidstrom and some guys wither - Hossa, Joe Thorton...

The Hawks are paying him alot of money and he isn't getting it done in the playoffs. To date he has had a total of 2 good playoffs and one of them was when he played wing with Sydney Crosby.

Kenny is a very smart man.

#1991129 Cap could go up by 2 million

Posted by chrisdetroit on 29 May 2010 - 05:45 PM

uh, keep dreaming on this too

Marleau? Jesus H Christ. Marleau is a perenial playoff choker. He had 1 decent playoff and it was only 2 rounds. His team got swept in the 3rd round. 1 decent playoff does not make up for 5 or 6 terrible ones. Remeber that Hossa guy? 2 goals in 16 games this year...

#1988922 The Curse of Marian Hossa

Posted by chrisdetroit on 24 May 2010 - 11:32 AM

I hate the Hawks with a passion but they built their team with youth and talent, they are gonna be contenders for years. Good luck to them and I hope Hossa can finally lift Lord Stanley. They deserve to be where they're at. With that said I hope the Finals will go 7 games I'd love to see how physical the Flyers (assuming they will close it out tonight) can be against the Hawks especially Kane. By the way does Kane still have that stupid mullet?

They built their team with first round draft picks.

Next year they tank because they have overpaid to many guys and have to have a fire sale. Everybody not named Kane, Hossa, Keith and Toews are gone. They overpaid for Campbell and Huet and are stuck with them. Huet is sitting on the bench collecting $6m per year and Hossa doesn't score in the playoffs.

Contenders for years? Sorry, but this is a one year wonder.

#1988151 LOL at the Sharks

Posted by chrisdetroit on 22 May 2010 - 09:22 AM

Question: Are the Hawks really this good or are the Wings really that bad?

The Wings lost 4 games to the Sharks all by 1 goal. In 2 of those 4 the Sharks scored either the tying or winning goal while on a 5 on 3. The Sharks never had the lead going into the 3rd period. The Sharks got the breaks, the Wings didn't. Are the Sharks better? Not IMO.

The Sharks won games 1 and 2 at home courtesy of 5 on 3's. The Wings gave away game 3 when Howard let in the tying goal at the end of regulation and Lids broke his stick in the OT. Game 4 was an absolute beat-down by the Wings. Game 5 the Sharks won by 1 goal after being tied going into the 3rd. The series could easily have gone eitehr way.

We need 3rd and 4th liners who can actually put the puck in the net. We don't have that now.

#1986081 5/16 Playoff Gameday

Posted by chrisdetroit on 16 May 2010 - 05:12 PM

I have no problem with the Hawks winning this series, or the Cup. I actually prefer them on San Jose but have money on the Sharks to win the Cup before the playoffs started.

Before the series i thought the Hawks would win. Philly will win their series too. Then the Hawks will win the Cup in 5 or 6.

Are you kidding? You want 20 cent to win the cup? I think that I will throw up if Chicago wins the Cup.

#1984556 Who should we Keep? Release? Sign?

Posted by chrisdetroit on 13 May 2010 - 11:34 AM

What a pass he made to Thornton, who served up Marleau for the GAME-WINNNER!!!! I'm surprised he didn't join in the celebration, or at least be awarded an assist. Just an awful awful play.

You want to trade the #1 scoring D man in the playoffs because of 1 bad play? Everybody makes a bad play once in awhile. That's hockey

#1981932 Who should we Keep? Release? Sign?

I want a big tough Canadian who can fight.

I'm not keen on having any of Eaves, Miller, Abdelkader, Ritola, Helm on a 3rd line, compare them with hawks/pens third line, a third line is suppose to score as well as check, the third line gotta be more of an offensive threat.

The Hawks will have to dump most of their 3rd and 4th lines because of the cap.

He'll waive it if the wings ask him to.

And he wouldn't be the only piece in the trade.

You do realize that Ralfi leads ALL d-men in the playoffs in points don't you? Yea let's trade him

2 goals in 9 playoff games this year. I am really glad that we didn't waste our money.

#1976787 Why is Howard still in the net?

Posted by chrisdetroit on 05 May 2010 - 04:00 PM

Every goalie has bad playoff years - Luongo, Brodeur, Nabokov, Hasek.

Howard is a rookie but has shown flashes of being a great goalie. Patience

#1972757 If the wings gets Eliminated by the Sharks....

Posted by chrisdetroit on 03 May 2010 - 07:52 PM

If the wings' gets eliminated by the sharks are you going to follow every other series with much interest and enthusiasm?
Personally I think I couldn't watch any more, would feel too angry and s*** and it's not worth staying up til early morning to watch a team you're not supporting, I feel like I will need a break just like the wings do, too...

What will you do?

I had to laugh when I saw that Mr. negativty has started this thread.

#1968757 Pens get lucky AGAIN

Posted by chrisdetroit on 01 May 2010 - 09:31 AM

Is anybody else pissed that the #1, #2 and #3 teams in the east all lost in the first round and have paved the way for the Pens to return to the finals? I mean for God's sake, how much luck can 1 team have.

While we are playing San Jose, they are playing a Montreal team that almost didn't make the playoffs. And then if we get past San Jose we face either Chicago or Vancouver and they get Boston or Philadelphia.

This to me is unbelievable. I don't believe that it's a conspiracy but what are the odds of this happening?
