#2338459 Now What Can the NHL Do For You, the Fans

Posted by Hiei on 08 January 2013 - 10:39 AM

What can the NHL do for me?

If you fired Bettman tomorrow, I would buy season tickets.  Doesn't matter if Detroit is 1100 miles from here, i'll buy em!

I'm calling for a full boycott of the NHL.  What would the NHL have to say to a half-empty JLA?  or MSG?  What about if the Air Canada Centre was half empty?  or if Newark was a ghost town and Long Island had no one show up at all?  We need to send a STRONG message that we are your bosses.  We are the ones who decide if you get our money today or not.  WE decide if your league state is good or bad.

Let the NHL store in NYC get overloaded with merch and just walk by it.  Get Buttman out there to peddle jerseys and t-shirts.

I'm disappointed in both Cutler and the O-line.  With the set of receivers we have now, he couldn't think to audible a dinkpass to Spaeth/Marshall/Jeffery/Bennett?  I saw no less than 5 plays where the Packers threw a blitz and the center of the field was OPEN FOR BUSINESS.  OH! EXPLOITABLE!  a 6 yard pass can be converted into a 20 yard play when GB brings 7.  Our defense played well enough for us to win.  I said it.  The Bears Defense PLAYED WELL ENOUGH FOR US TO HAVE A STERLING CHANCE.  Roflgers was on the turf a good number of times, AND Tim Jennings is poised to break the door off this year so far.  Also not sure on the legality of a forward pass while on one knee.

Marshall dropping a sure touchdown didn't help.

Webb doesn't help when he's 6'7" and lets Clay Matthews walk by.  Bear hug him and fall on him! you're bigger than he is.  Also doesn't help that cutler is shoving him around, even though Webb walked onto the sideline with that big dumb "YUP I F-CKED UP AGAIN" dopey-ass smile on his face.

We do get a honey of a schedule though next 3 weeks.  Rams, @ cowboys, Jaguars.  If we don't go 3-0, we ain't doin s*** this year.

Welcome to Fabian Brunnstrom Part II-Electric Boogaloo.  I hope he signs with Blowcouver and proves to be as big of a ***** as the Sedin Sisters.

#2306485 Brad Stuart's rights traded to San Jose

the MLive article seemed to show Jason Garrison available too from Florida.  If Tallon doesn't throw the bank at him, I'd like to see Detroit take a run at him.  Easily the #1 defenceman on the Panthers last year.  He's big, scored a lot of goals last year.

I'll give it a shot that he runs for some kind of Political Office.  as a member of the Teabag friendly GOP.  Anyone care to digress with me on what he might actually do?

#2305077 Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons

Posted by Hiei on 03 June 2012 - 10:58 PM

I will GUARANTEE YOU THIS.

THE NUMBER 5 WILL NO LONGER BE WORN BY ANOTHER DETROIT RED WING, AS IT WILL SMILE DOWN UPON AND GUIDE OUR PLAYERS GOING FORWARD.  IT WILL SERVE AS A SYMBOL OF EXCELLENCE, A MEASURING STICK BY WHICH ALL DEFENCEMEN GOING FORWARD WILL BE MEASURED.  IT WILL STAND FOR AS LONG AS THE CITY OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN SHALL STAND.  IT WILL STAND FOR HOCKEYTOWN.

Like Yzerman...like Lidstrom.  We fail him out in the first round.

Holland, you said you would retire when Lidstrom retires.  LET'S SEE IT.

#2298152 #4 Nashville Predators vs. #3 Phoenix Coyotes

Posted by Hiei on 29 April 2012 - 11:26 PM

The Coyotes are doing something the Wings failed to do.  Nashville is playing the same.

One Problem.

When we go to the net, it's one shot then Nashville gets Pekkerhead's awful rebounds and gets out of the zone.

When Phoenix goes to the net, they get one shot, then at least 1-2 other guys trailing in to get those rebounds.  LOOK AT ALL THE REBOUNDS PEKKERHEAD'S BEEN GIVING UP.

Or since it's the south, maybe it should be PeKKKerhead.
