That's what I thought last year when he signed with the Hawks.

Except he hadn't just won the Cup.

#2609051 It's Official: Babcock to coach Maple Leafs

Posted by darkmanx on 20 May 2015 - 02:02 PM

So does flipping Babcock for a 3rd from Toronto count as Hollands best trade the last coupe years?

It will be when we draft a better player in that round then what the Leafs take in the 1st this year.

There was never anything officially said from the two but I remember a lot of rumors coming out that year that the two just didnt get along. They were professional with each other but didnt like each other. Shanny leaving for the same money was a pretty good indication of how he felt.

Didn't Shanahan have to play on a line with Draper and Datsyuk in the playoffs that year? Classic Babcock, putting a 4th line plug on a higher line.

I had the same thought. Toronto front office could turn into its own soap opera. Especially if the team is losing as they are expected to do.

I think you mean remain a soap opera.

What has Bylsma proven? He got a cup in 09 for taking over a team in February that got hot at the right time. After that he has proven to be able to take a loaded roster and get ousted in the first and 2nd rounds of the playoffs. Lets not forgot Babs was far from a proven coach when hired and that worked out well.

And hell, he barely got that Cup. If Detroit was slightly more healthy that year, we would've smoked the Penguins. They were lucky, we weren't.

I want Dan Bylsma

So do I, providing Crosby and Malkin come with him.

Whatever. I wanted Babs gone and now we can all watch his ego try to fix that joke of a franchise. Good thing he loves 4th liners because he has plenty to choose from on that team.

Blashill!

Babcock's Wife: "I want you to have more time off."

Babcock: "OK, Toronto it is."

Hahaha well at least Twitter will be entertaining :P

Game 4 is going to haunt us until October. Two chances to end the series on home ice and they lost them both.

I think going to the well of winning at Tampa three times in the series is too much.

Can't decide to start playing down 3-0 at home.

I will just say this... Babs sucks
He should play 4-3-3 formation

Best way to protect this lead..................don't let Jonathan Ericsson see the ice.  Datsyuk can play as the 6th defenseman.

We need this

Not really.  Yzerman plays for Tampa now.   :hehe:

With how well hes been playing Mrazek needs to stop that first goal. That opened the floodgates. Had Howard been in net and allowed this people would be calling to burn his house down.

Something something rookie
