#2578156 Hockey's equivalent of the triple play, the automatic goal

There is no defending James Neal.

One of the biggest dirtbags in the NHL

#2576783 Red Wings acquire Erik Cole, conditional 3rd from Stars

100% we won this trade.

We can make a cup run this year with the addition of a decent defender, we have PLENTY of bottom 4 defencemen in the pool, we can afford to lose one. Especially one who couldnt crack it in the minors

Janmark has 2 games in america, we'll survive.

No, but you're the only one who can spell his name. ;)

Pretty sure I nailed it haha

I agree that Athanasiou should be the next call. Hopefully it doesn't get to that point though, we need everyone in the lineup

Regarding Montreal,

That is a very bilingual city. You can speak french or english anywhere.

The thing with the team is they are all so hopped up on being proud frenchmen that media and coaches need to be all fluent which is just sad

#2569489 Nabokov traded back to San Jose

Posted by WingsallTheway on 09 February 2015 - 02:36 PM

I still remember how pumped I was when Detroit signed him,

then how frustrated I was when NYI claimed him right after.

I wonder what would have changed. He was a good  goalie at the time

#2568319 Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 04 February 2015 - 03:53 PM

It's not that absurd.  In their first 5 seasons, Kronwall score at .46 points per game, and Franson scored .41 points per game.  That's a difference of 4 points over an 82 game season.  My guess is, that this tiny difference in points can probably be attributed to the relative differences in the quality of the teams they've played for.

Kronwall played on two Stanley Cup finalist teams and 2 other President's trophy winning teams in his first five years.

And Cody Franson played for Nashville and Toronto.

There is more to offence then points.

Ill take Kronwall over Franson on the PP any day. Kronwall is a VERY underrated playmaker in the offensive zone. Ill also take Kronwall in my own end to make the first pass 100 percent of the time.

Of course, there is no argument that Kronwall is better than Franson defensively.

Seriously though, when was the last time a player left the wings and didn't increase their point totals? (Brunner ) If Franson comes here you can expect him to lose 20-30% of that point total, just like any other FA in recent history who came here, other than Hossa

That's a situation where I am OK with trading Tatar

There is no situation where I'm ok with trading Tatar...

Literally our only player who is shoot first and plays hard every shift

#2566606 LA puts Mike Richards on waivers

Posted by WingsallTheway on 28 January 2015 - 05:47 PM

Lombardi gave Richards another shot to find his game when he didn't buy him out this past offseason, like many were hoping he would.

I don't know what's going on with Richards but he sure didn't capitalize on that second chance.

He was a big part of the Kings first Cup and still contributed in the second, but man has his game fallen off. I don't know if it's wear and tear or just Mule-itis since he has the fat contract and a couple Stanley Cups.

Likely a severe case of muleitis.

Or even Reddenoma, if you catch my drift

#2565593 Mantha Still Hopes to Play in Detroit This Season

Posted by WingsallTheway on 22 January 2015 - 04:24 PM

lol Mantha doesn't realize who our GM is

If he knew, he'd probably had pulled a Lindros

#2565592 crazy hockey dad

hahahah "way to go, Paul." Thats one of the greatest one liners ever

Clearly he does  this stuff at all the games. He didn't even react to shattering the glass, what a clown.

And, tbh, he's our AHL goalie so not really our regular back up.

Good job boys!  Congrats Petr, you're playing awesome!

To be fair, Petr isn't the standard AHL goalie.

This guy is a gem and will 100% be our starter eventually.

#2563257 Brodeur retires. Named Sr. Advisor to Blues GM

Posted by WingsallTheway on 14 January 2015 - 07:38 PM

Seems Brodeur is over being the 3rd goaltender for the Blues now that Elliot and Allen are back to health.

May be an option for Detroit to have a short-term backup for Mrazek while Howard is out for who knows how long...

I really hope not. He's done.

He was pretty bad before getting a shutout last game, he should just call it a career off of that note

#2562615 Jimmy Howard.......All-Star!

Posted by WingsallTheway on 12 January 2015 - 10:45 AM

Mrazek seems to thrive under pressure situations so I think he'll be just fine
