Absolutely clean hit on Glendenning, dont be homers

One of the nicest hits ive seen this season TBH

Skate with your head down at that height your going to get hit there first, every time. If that was dirty Kronwall shouldve been suspended for each hit hes done

Kindl's pass was awesome there wow good on him

#2584257 Team next season?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 23 March 2015 - 09:15 PM

Why move Smith? Isn't Kindl still kicking around somewhere?

With reason. Nobody in their right mind takes Kindl in a trade.

Smith has slight value, I'd be shocked if we got Phanuef for Smith/Weiss. Absolutely shocked. Leafs replace theyre top Dman for Smith (arguably our worst) and lose 2M in total salary when the deal is done.... Not exactly a great play on Nonis' part. Also Weiss doesn't help them out now or in the rebuild.

Jurco/Pulk is definatley going the other way.

Think about it, say we were trading FOR Weiss/Kindl. What would you possibly want to give up for that? I'd want to receive high picks and not give them anyone else in return.

Our team is young and feeling the effects of a full NHL season for the first time.

I think the team is just drained right now, which is probably good considering playoffs are coming in about a month

#2580721 Red Wings acquire Marek Zidlicky from NJ for Cond. 2016 3rd Round Pick

I'm pretty sure he was saying rotating smith in with Kronwall, instead of e.
At least, that's what I'm hoping was he meant.

Yeah, I hope so haha

Im actually on board with a Kronwall - Smith pairing. Have wanted it for awhile. Ericsson should be nowhere near the top 4.

Im not exactly a Smith fan but he needs offensive situations in order to be at his best

#2580166 Will Wings Revisit Signing Phaneuf?

Jurco , Mrazek and a first would be my offer

Well I'm glad Holland is GM

There is no defending James Neal.

One of the biggest dirtbags in the NHL

#2576783 Red Wings acquire Erik Cole, conditional 3rd from Stars

100% we won this trade.

We can make a cup run this year with the addition of a decent defender, we have PLENTY of bottom 4 defencemen in the pool, we can afford to lose one. Especially one who couldnt crack it in the minors

Janmark has 2 games in america, we'll survive.

I agree that Athanasiou should be the next call. Hopefully it doesn't get to that point though, we need everyone in the lineup

Regarding Montreal,

That is a very bilingual city. You can speak french or english anywhere.

The thing with the team is they are all so hopped up on being proud frenchmen that media and coaches need to be all fluent which is just sad

#2569489 Nabokov traded back to San Jose

Posted by WingsallTheway on 09 February 2015 - 02:36 PM

I still remember how pumped I was when Detroit signed him,

then how frustrated I was when NYI claimed him right after.

I wonder what would have changed. He was a good  goalie at the time

#2568319 Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 04 February 2015 - 03:53 PM

It's not that absurd.  In their first 5 seasons, Kronwall score at .46 points per game, and Franson scored .41 points per game.  That's a difference of 4 points over an 82 game season.  My guess is, that this tiny difference in points can probably be attributed to the relative differences in the quality of the teams they've played for.

Kronwall played on two Stanley Cup finalist teams and 2 other President's trophy winning teams in his first five years.

And Cody Franson played for Nashville and Toronto.

There is more to offence then points.

Ill take Kronwall over Franson on the PP any day. Kronwall is a VERY underrated playmaker in the offensive zone. Ill also take Kronwall in my own end to make the first pass 100 percent of the time.

Of course, there is no argument that Kronwall is better than Franson defensively.

Seriously though, when was the last time a player left the wings and didn't increase their point totals? (Brunner ) If Franson comes here you can expect him to lose 20-30% of that point total, just like any other FA in recent history who came here, other than Hossa

If we go forward 5-6 years, what would be the best possible lineup?

McKee (I know....)-Glendening-Abby

Miller-Little Tuzzi

Not to nitpick here but,

I've never even considered Miller to be here in 6 years. I don't see him being effective at 36. Am I the only one who thinks this?
