#2596832 Sharks & McLellan part ways

Posted by WingsallTheway on 20 April 2015 - 11:59 AM

Have to think he would be an option if Babs leaves

Yes, I'm aware of Blashill's presence. Blash seems to be a good coach for development and maybe he is best suited in the AHL. If he gets paid like an NHL coach, why wouldn't he just stay with the Griffs anyway?

#2596615 J Ericsson - really?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 19 April 2015 - 01:36 PM

Ericsson is getting the job done. There is a million other things that are hurting us worse than Ericsson in this series. Has he even been on the ice for a goal against in this series? Usually our defense is our downfall but i think they have stepped up down the stretch and these first two games. Aside from Datsyuk and the 4th line our forwards have been complete garbage

slightly off topic but, this point made me want to post this

I don't see how we are expected to win a series with the lines we have right now. Maybe its the roster but looking up and down the lineup you have to wonder how we even have a chance.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Helm <---- great line and the only threat, if they dont get it done we lose. You could see that in game 1

Nyquist - Sheahan - Tatar <---- Doesn't seem to be able to get it done in the playoffs yet. Turnovers and little offence and a defensive liability

Weiss - Andersson - Jurco <---- possibly the softest and worst line i could come up with on our roster. No puck possession

Miller - Glendenning - Ferarro <---- I'd prefer someone else over Ferarro but this line is what it is and good at what it does

Basically, if the top line doesn't get it done offensively, noone else will. All we can do is hope that we get some lucky goals and win a game by 1 goal. It sucks. Were playing defensive hockey with a joke of a defence and skeptical goaltending.

We need to spread out Z and D to have 2 legitimate lines. The days of our stacked rosters are over, we can't play them together anymore.

Regarding Ericcson, he NEEDS TO BE DELEGATED. He can be used on this team, but with favorable matchups, not the best players in the NHL. He slows down Kronwall as well, who is literally our only offensive threat on defence.

Play Kronwall with anyone else, we don't have another top 2 dman but noone else aside from Smith/Kindl is a liability like Ericcson is.

#2596583 J Ericsson - really?

You don't look at points to see how terrible Ericsson is. You just watch him for a game, on any given night.

You can argue that he looks bad because hes on the top pairing getting exposed, but that explains that hes just a bad defenceman. "shut down" Dmen are supposed to shut down guys. He doesnt do that, or bring offence.

He actually destroys all offence. Whenever we cycle in the O-zone, he just throws it on goal the second it touches his stick. Other team gets possesion, puck goes the other way.

I hope the defence looks something like this:

Kronwall -

Dekeyser - Quincey

Cleary in over Jurco again?

I'm not Jurco's biggest fan but if hes not going to play send him down. Cleary is the worst player i've seen put on the wings uniform since the lockout.... hes so irrelevant I dont understand.

The whole time hes on the ice you can tell his job is to just get his shift done without screwing up

#2588848 Is A First Round Exit Imminent?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 04 April 2015 - 10:33 AM

We're not getting swept. I'll put money on it. How quickly so many lose faith when the team hits a rough patch. I won't be surprised to see us make the conference finals.

Personally, I could see this team make it all the way or get swept in the 1st round theyre just extremely inconsistent.

I guess it depends on what team shows up, alot of variables are set in place

One and done I'm afraid, if we get in that is. If we have everyone back and can stay healthy we could give Someteam a 6/7 game series. But as we stand and are currently playing then it could be a sweep.

If we get swept, we need to make huge changes. Average team at best, the worst thing an NHL team can consistently do is be a fringe playoff team because we don't get high picks.

This is all happening while we have two of the best players in the world...once theyre gone I hate to see how rough we might be

Im sure most will disagree, but we basically got swept last season as well and showed nothing to Boston. As it looks right now, we may get swept again but who knows.

#2588820 Erik cole - what the hell's going on with him ?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 04 April 2015 - 12:40 AM

Interesting idea about putting the guy who leads the team in goals on the 3rd line. ??? Tats and Sheahan do a switcharoo and I like it thiugh

There is no C on that line if you do that. I don't think Sheahan is truly capable of being a bonafide 2nd line center in the playoffs either. Not yet anyway.

I don't mind tatar on the third, but I'd prefer nyquist down there. They both thrive off lesser competition, Gus more so then Tatar.

#2587996 Time to move Howard?

Holland would probably trade Mrazek first.

I guarantee this

Can we be done with the Mrazek is the savior stuff now?

That game would probably have been 6-1 if it werent for Mrazek

Oh, but he had a bad shootout, I see.

We would 100% be out of this game if Jimmy were in net.

Having said that, Mrazek has this trend of playing solid then getting pulled the next game, so....
