You are making my point for me. The Red Wings are not far away from a decade of nothing happening. I know Zetterberg is NOT the reason the Red Wings don't come out looking like the same team every game, but the fact is that they've been an inconsistent team for a while now. I think Larkin represents that same type of glimmer that Yzerman represented. He's the face of the franchise now, and the player that stabilizes the team. We are talking about Larkin and excited to see Larkin EVERY single game. We know the Wings can win any game because of him. That's the kind of player you make captain.
