#2518252 Ken Holland Quotes (Apr 29th

Posted by WingsallTheway on 29 April 2014 - 07:08 PM

Ken Holland quote August 31st 2014:

Ultimately, we kicked some tires but the price was too steep to bring in a free agent RH defenceman. We feel the return of a more experienced Quincey and Kindl solidifies our backend. The return of a healthy pav and Z gives us all we need and franzen tells me he has been resurged.

I traded tatar and 2 conditional 1st round picks for the rights to Chris Chelios, but ultimately I did not kick the tires hard enough and we won't be adding his veteran leadership this season.

#2517260 Was Legwand worth it?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 26 April 2014 - 05:35 PM

No, we lost one of our best prospects who fills a whole that this team desperately needs in a scoring right handed center.

We made the playoffs which is great, but I think we could have done it without Legwand, or even with jarncrok in that position. Legwand was irrelevant IMO.

The pick is now a second rounder, which can easily become a good player

Basically, we traded a 2nd pick (pretty high one too) and a promising prospect for 5 extra games of hockey.

The addition of bertuzzi is the worst coaching decision ive seen in awhile

#2514432 Least Favorite Wings Players

Posted by WingsallTheway on 23 April 2014 - 05:27 PM

Glendening.  I'm sure he's a great kid, but he produces zero offense.  I don't understand the love affair Babs has with him, for a team that is offense starved the last few years, why bring on a guy that produces nothing?  He's in the top 5 of least producing Wing forwards we've EVER had, I think top 3 actually.  So what if he brings his lunch pail to work every day... he just doesn't produce anything while at work.  Most companies fire you for that.

Hes on this team because every line has a role. Glendenning fits the shutdown center role EXTREMELY well

Dats is now able to play against other team's 2,3,4 line because glendenning is somehow capable of shutting down other teams top centers.

Not every player needs to provide offence, especially a 4th liner

As per the thread:

I despise Quincey Kindl Bertuzzi and right now Franzen

At this time , EVERYONE was willing to trade dats for Stall

crazy! :scared:

#2505732 Riley Sheahan - Underappreciated and Overshadowed?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 04 April 2014 - 11:10 AM

Sheahan to me has come out of nowhere and exceeded all of my expecations. His play this season has him becoming one of my favorite players.

His vision as a playmaker is AWESOME and he always seems to make the right hockey play.

Posted by WingsallTheway on 15 March 2014 - 02:08 PM

But with Bert there there's a possible he can score, Toots won't score at all. Energy is nice but like other posters said 6-7 min a game won't be enough to provide an impact for a player like Tootoo. Plus I don't think Babs will play him for then 5 min anyway.

Is there really that possibility though? He makes everyone on his line irrelevant

#2490793 Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

Posted by WingsallTheway on 05 March 2014 - 04:15 PM

This is bad. Really bad.

I'm nothing close to a Holland supporter but this was even unexpected.

Trading away our only potential right handed scoring center in the whole system for a sup-par rental on a lost season. What a joke.

So many other good players went for far less too.

#2484951 Red Wings should target Clarkson

I had initially thought this was a new thread and I was ready to light this thread up lol

#2481259 Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Posted by WingsallTheway on 04 February 2014 - 03:19 PM

I think its almost safe to say Holland won't be making any moves this year...(again)

He said he was going to wait and see how the few games before the olympics go before he decides to make any moves, and with a few points in a few games he'll probably sit tight again.

If anything I could see a very minor move, hopefully getting a 5th or 6th defenceman in return without losing anyone valuable. (quincey not included) Plus with the added cap issues, there isn't much Holland could really pull the trigger on if he wanted to

Next season is going to be interesting because there will definately be moves, Holland has no choice. So many players ready for the big club and no longer waiver exempt so that is going to be interesting.
