How can most of you not see the obvious? He's not a top 6 guy on ANY NHL team and is not built for grinding and mucking it up on the 3rd/4th lines. There's more viable options in GR right now like Sheahan. Dude is born to be a 3rd liner. Hoping Sheahan gets called up now.

He might have gotten away with it had he not been driving the wrong way on a 1 way street in downtown Grand Rapids. Hahah. Caught the story on the local news.

Ovechkin staying in the KHL would be a big blow to the NHL. They have so few marketable personalities.
I disagree. I think they have TONS of marketable players, but they just chose the obvious ones. Think if Biznasty was marketed like OV. I think he has a better personality. I don't know why Russians come off as so selfish to me and seem egotistical.

The Wings had a goalie that was better than the defense? Has there ever been besides Sawchuk? I keep trying to think of a goalie that kept the Wings alive through out a entire season. Like a elite goalie type. I'm drawing blanks besides Dom in 02', but he had great d-man in front of him. I'm thinking that's going to be the case this year. Our goalie depth is a greater strength than our d-man depth and Jimmy H. is going to shine.
What a joke. Leave the damn cap alone. No wonder Ericcsons contract is so inflated. The asking price for s*** players is going to sky rocket and so is the price to get a super star.
Has anyone stopped and thought a second that it might not be the players, but rather those who prepare them for the game? You stick X player here and X player here you might squeeze a goal or two more in a SERIES, but really they have tof****** try and break into the box Nashville is placing in front of Rhinne / stop the late man coming into our own zone. If were up in this series does this thread even get made? I mean it would eventually, but not till July lol.
• The Stars, with new owner Tom Galardi willing to spend dough this summer, will go after Ryan Suter and Zach Parise, but still think Detroit has the inside track on Parise, who’s absolutely No. 1 on their shopping list (how about Parise and Pavel Datsyuk on the same line?), with Suter No. 2 as they look to Nick Lidstrom’s eventual retirement. One thing Detroit has that other teams don’t: a winning tradition.
Must be a serious thought if the Parise talk is still around. Isn't Parise a center? What do you think the lines will look like if he signs (top 6 wise).

Again, past is not prelude. The Wings were always up against the cap in previous years and could only send picks for trades. Now the Wings have virtually unlimited options, if they're willing to pay the cost. Holland won't be wasteful, but there are a couple expendable players on this roster (Emmerton, namely).
Every team that will be in the playoffs has cap space to play with excluding the Canucks and Holland will never pay the cost for a rental. We're talking about cap era Kenny Holland here man.
