#2533160 Tatar Signs 3 Year Deal $2.75 mill AAV

Posted by Jersey Wing on Yesterday, 01:47 PM

It's a good day. I saw DeKeyser earlier say on Twitter he was confident a new deal would get done sooner rather than later so yes, a good day.

Happy dance.  Happy dance.

Now just give us DannyD and I'll be happy.

EDIT: Make that "I'll be totally happy".  I'm now happy enough to be doing a happy dance.  When we sign Danny I'll be doing a happy backflippy kind of dance.  Right now it's more of a happy cha-cha.

I expect to see 2-2.5 per. Either way, I expect people to complain about it now but be praising it come the final year. That's usually how these contracts work out

Best part of that is he doesnt seem to have been pushed and the puck is on the other side of the ice lol

Never trust a gif.
He was crosschecked in the back prior to running into the crossbar.  Part of the reason he reacts the way he does is it looks like he hits his face on the crossbar.
And he was going hard to the net to get open for a pass or rebound.   It probably looks unfamiliar because he's one of the few Wings players who does it.

I'm betting most Wings fans could never envision Chelios playing for the Wings either.

#2532577 'District Detroit': Red Wings' New Arena Details Released

Posted by wings4thecup06 on 19 July 2014 - 07:05 PM

I have mixed feelings about this. Personally, I love the Joe. It has so much character, history and the sight lines (IMO) are great. Even in the upper deck it feels like you're on top of the action, and the standing room areas are superb.

While the idea of a new arena is also exciting, I can't help but feel it will be another generic, state of the art place where everything is overpriced and you have to bring binoculars to the game.

Favorite Dan Cleary moment: '14-'15 season where he bounces back from injuries and the bench and scores 25 goals.

Thank you for creating this thread GMR. With all the negativity being spouted around right now about Cleary and KH, it's actually really refreshing to remember why this guy was beloved in the first place before all this crap.

I voted for when he knocked the crap out of Phaneuf. I still remember that to this day, and I remember being so happy because I hated Phaneuf with a passion at the time.

#2532087 Renney out, Granato in

Posted by puckloo39 on 14 July 2014 - 08:54 PM

I read in Malik's report that Pens fans are devastated that Granato is leaving for Detroit.  That makes me kind of happy.

#2531822 Tom Renney could be leaving, too.

Calling Professor Larionov, Professor Larionov, please report to human resources...

I'm not sure he'd be the best PP coach.

"Just make a perfect pass to the spot where you know Kozlov will be.  He'll make a couple nice moves in the corner and throw a no look pass to where Konstantinov will be, who is cutting back door from the point.  If Vladdy doesn't have a high percentage scoring chance then Fedorov will have already moved into position by the far post for an outlet.  Simple."

Yea, but no one says what they'd do as GM. I bet if the average Red Wing fan became GM, he/she would make horrible trades and sign over priced UFA's. We'd be like the Leafs and our team would be build around guys like Kessel, Phaneuf, Lupul, Clarkson, van Reimsdyk and Bozak for the next 4 years plus. No thanks, I'll take Kenny, who's building the team with the draft, isn't signing any over priced UFA's, and actually knows how the cap works.

I understand signing Quincey and Cleary isn't "sexy", but they're only 1 and 2 year deals. That Niskanen deal is insane! Smith and Dekeyser are going to be better then him. Unless a team has drafted the player, I don't think any UFA should be signed for over 4 years. Do an online search and see how many horrible long term UFA signings there's been since 2005-06. The Wings don't have any bad ones over 3 years. The only potential bad one could be Weiss, but he's got a few years to still make the deal a good one.

I'm not sure if this was already posted, but figured it deserves its own thread.Besides, we could use something like this in the midst of all the other stuff (or lack of) going on :P

How 'bout that hand-eye coordination, ey?

So far I trail by a single vote with the trophy being handed out at 9 tonight.
I might just be able to pull off the upset.

Omg that was close, good job flashy!! Winning by two votes!
