Couple notes from Jeff Blashill's availability: Said he likes Smith's offensive potential and will give him shot on PP (in camp) ...

He's not known for playing big minutes, and they don't consider him a number one d-man it could work but they won't move him this year they probably want to make a run.

I don't think the Wings are bringing Green in to be a #1 d-man. As for ice time, he'll probably be #3 behind Kronwall and DeKeyser.

I just don't get it, if the NHL(PA) and all others do hate the shootout so much either get rid of it or if for whatever reason they don't want to do that let it be the way it always was and hopefully will always be.

This 3:3 is just turning this thing into another gimmick,
like we've needed more gimmicks in a our game, which is more and more becoming something it shouldn't be.

#2613022 Retire Sergei Fedorovís Jersey Immediately

He's just not as great as you think he is ... If he played his whole career in nyi and slt he would of won nothing ... Look back at the wings lineups during those glory years ... Truly remarkable stuff , never needed a superstar goalie to win with that lineup

Now imagine if we had hasek in nets as well from 93-05 how many cups we'd have

What really gets me is how people are praising osgood so much and yet s***ting on federov and he's the one who's had the way better career in detroit , only cause he chased some money along the way

Those guys you mentioned were also the best goalies of there time and won vezina's and conn smythe's, in nets for many cups

Brodeur roy hasek and others were miles away better than osgood

But what you said to discredit Osgood is also true of those other guys.  If you stuck Sawchuck, Fuhr, Plante, or Smith on crappy teams, instead of dynasty teams, they wouldn't have been great either.  They were all system goalies.  But nobody holds it against them.

Osgood put up comparable, or better, career numbers than the guys I just mentioned.  He did it on a really good team.  They did it on even better teams.  But only Osgood gets criticized for it.

Drew Sharp is calling hiring Blash "a huge gamble" on the Freep's front page article.

How is it not? He has zero prior NHL head coaching experience

My local grocery store was lousy with Hawks fans today.  WTF?

You really need to move

How do the hawks manage to play so many of these games where they get called for 1 judgment call or less? Then add on top of that the kicked in goal. I still remember that BS game against the wings when they were called for 0 penalties.

Helm to Toronto?
Larkin 3rd line c?!?!?!
This is the only thing I can think of that would make a trade matter for Larkin.

Helm isn't going anywhere , seriously doubt it he can play the wing as well and has a ton of speed

Tell Babs when he comes calling for glendening to pay up a 1st or take a hike lol

#2609663 Babcock says good-bye in full page ad. SIAP

Posted by LeftWinger on 22 May 2015 - 11:08 AM

Hopefully the first time TO is in Detroit, the organization puts together a nice presentation for him, so the fans can cheer and say goodbye.  Maybe just his picture on the scoreboard and announcer saying that the fans and team would like to thank him for 10 years of great hockey!  Crowd erupts, Babcock cries, then Mrazek shut's out the leafs....perfect night.
