Stall is not happening, he may get traded this season so Pittsburgh doesn't lose him for nothing, but he has made it clear he wants to play with his brother in Carolina. At least thats what Dreger and Mackenzie were saying on Sportscentre.
If a high end trade is going to happen, it will probably be with and East team. No one in the west is going to trade a star to us without pillaging the farm.
Milan Lucic would be at the top of my list and very realistic I think considering Boston is going to have to sign Him, Marchand, and Seguin to big raises next offseason.
Finally good to see that management is seeing this too. Many of us have been advocating this for a couple offseason now.
I am not implying that I know more than management, they have probably noticed this over the last few years as well. Hence the drafting of more NA players in the draft recently. I'm just glad they are finally coming out and saying that they need to get bigger.
I wonder how long it will take for everyone to turn on Smith like they did with Ericsson.... The kid has Potential and a good skill set but he has played like 9 NHL games and wasn't phenomenal. People aren't being realistic and are setting themselves up for disappointment
Ericsson has never even come close to having the potential Smith has and Smith is already better than Ericsson ever was...
And other than a few boneheaded plays he is going to make as he learns the league (Ericsson makes these almost every game) he looked outstanding.

Agreed. People seem to remember his highlight reel saves but forget all the backbreakingly soft goals he lets in. He's a good goalie, but way too inconsistent to be considered elite.
Like I said in the other thread, Jones got 4M, Hudler will want at least that and some team will offer him more. Holland will not pay that price for someone as one dimensional as Hudler.
that's cause in the playoffs the Wings had no one who went to the front of the net and they didn't win battles in the dirty areas or attack the middle of the ice (aside from Z) the way a guy like, i don't know....Parise does. Insert him and it completely changes the way our top is and opens up more opportunities for everyone. also, Nyquist should be in the top 6. bottom 6, Prust would be perfect as someone said prior to play with Abdelkader. Eaves coming back hopefully too would provide a boost and another right handed shot that we sorely need.
Agreed, too many perimeter players on this team who lacked hustle and heart this past playoff. Parise will help but this current team has bigger problems than scoring goals right now.
