Ericsson close to 3-year deal?Posted by Matt Schwartz // 10:02AM - Saturday, July 19, 2008George Malik at MLive.com' Snapshots blog came across a potential gem in Sweden's Aftonbladet, which reports that the Red Wings are on the verge of signing blue chip prospect defenseman Jonathan Ericsson to a three-year, $2.7-million contract. The 24-year old blueliner would reportedly earn $550,000 in 2008-09, $900,000 in 2009-10 and $1,250,000 in the final year of the contract. Ericsson, who's salary cap hit would be $900,000, would remain eligible to play in Grand Rapids this coming season. Season ticket renewals after August 4th will see a $2 hike in prices. Kulfan also notes that 1,869 upper bowl tickets have dropped to $33 from last season's $44, while the first three rows off the glass have rocketed up to $125 from $85 last season.
