(Updated: 7/21 @ 1:50pm) The first of the Red Wings' restricted free agents appear have put pen to paper as the NHLPA's official web site is now listing the salaries for both goaltender Jimmy Howard and defenseman Jonathan Ericsson. Howard's contract, a three-year deal, will pay him $600,000 next season. Ericsson also signed a 3-year deal, his worth $2.7-million.
Ericsson will earn $550,000 in 2008-09, $900,000 in 2009-10 and $1,250,000 in 2010-11. The second- and third-year salary figures for Howard are currently unavailable.
The Red Wings are also reportedly close to coming to agreements with forward Valtteri Filppula and defenseman Kyle Quincey, also restricted free agents.
Filppula has an arbitration hearing scheduled for August 1st, though the two sides are expected to come to a contract agreement prior to the hearing.
Updated 7/21 @ 1:58pm: Howard's contract details were corrected to a three-year deal as opposed to the one-year contract initially reported, via the press release on the Red Wings' official site. Salary figures for Howard's second and third years are not available but the Salary Chart and Profile page for Howard will be updated once they become available.
