The Red Wings closed out the 2009 NHL Entry Draft with their final selections in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds following a run of four selections in the second and third rounds. Detroti selected project defenseman Nick Jensen (Green Bay/USHL) with the 150th pick of the draft, fiestly Mitchell Callahan (Kenowa/WHL) at 180 and finally with Swedish defenseman Adam Almqvist (HV-71 Jr.) with the 210th selection.
