Contract Details

Draper signed a four-year, $11.25-million contract prior to the lockout-lost season of 2004-05. After the rollback the contract -- which includes a no-trade clause -- was worth $8.55-million. Draper is due $2.125-million through the 2007-08 season.

On October 25th, 2007 Draper signed a three-year, $4.75-million contract extension with the team. He will earn $1.85 million in 2008-09, $1.65 million in 2009-10, and $1.25 million in the 2010-11 campaign -- for a salary cap hit value up $1.58-million.

Biography

Kris Draper is a three-time Stanley Cup champion, having won playoff championships with the Detroit Red Wings in 1997, 1998 and 2002. He enters the 2005-06 season with more than 800 games of National Hockey League experience. He was the Frank J. Selke Trophy winner in 2003-04 as the best defensive forward in the NHL. He scored a career-high 24 goals and 40 points.
