Commuter Directions
Joe Louis Arena is located at 600 Civic Center Drive right on the Detroit River and next to Cobo Hall.
From I-94 East/West (Detroit/Ann Arbor)
Take I-94 to the Lodge south. Follow the Lodge to the Jefferson/Joe Louis Arena exit. The exit will lead you directly to the JLA parking garage. JLA will be on your left hand side.
From I-96 East/West (Lansing, Brighton)
Take I-96 to I-75 north. Follow I-75 to Rosa Parks Blvd. (Joe Louis Civic Center Parking exit). Turn right on Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks will curve into Jefferson. Follow Jefferson to parking garage. JLA will be on your right hand side.
From I-75 south (Downriver communities, Toledo, Monroe)
Take I-75 to the Rosa Parks Blvd exit. (Joe Louis Civic Center Parking exit). Turn right on Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks will curve into Jefferson. Follow Jefferson to parking garage. JLA will be on your right hand side.
From I-75 south to the Lodge south
Follow the Lodge to the Jefferson/Joe Louis Arena exit. The exit will lead you directly to the JLA parking garage. JLA will be on the left hand side.
Public Transportation
Joe Louis Arena is on a Public Bus Route, contact the Detroit Transportation Authority for scheduling. Joe Louis Arena is also on the People Mover Route. Consult a schedule at a station for schedules. Other methods of transportation include a free shuttle from Hockeytown Cafe and several other downtown Detroit bars & restaurants.
Parking
The Joe Louis Arena Garage on W. Jefferson is directly connected to the building and will cost you $15. Other options include the Cobo roof and Washington St. Garage (both within walking distance of the Joe). Other public parking is available in garages downtown (a popular spot is Greektown Casino), from which you can take the People Mover to the arena.
Policies
Cameras and recording devices are typically not allowed. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas outside of Joe Louis Arena.
