A pathetic performance in front of an even more pathetic attendance!

We all saw what happened in the playoffs last spring with Niedermayer and Talbot taking some physical abuse on our key players (Datsyuk especially). Now when it gets to the point where we are getting bumped around by one of the softest teams in the NHL (the Montreal Canadiens), I say we have a major problem!

Bertuzzi is a joke, he's not providing anything to this club! I don't understand why the Wings even signed him to begin with???

Now how can we be more pathetic than this? It seems like we never got over from losing game 6 and 7 in the Cup final...

I do give Laraque the benefit of the doubt though. He does not have the reputation of being a cheap shot artist and rarely even fights guys that are smaller than him. I mean, with the size and physical strenght that he has, if he had the mean spirit of a Dave Brown for example, he could do some big damage out there... But the thing is that since he's arrive with the Canadiens, Laraque is getting more than his share of criticism in the Montreal medias. When he signed with the Habs, most people (fans, media members) taught that he would have fight every night and brake opponent players bones on a regular basis. Well I guess that Habs fans are happy now! I even red on some Habs fan sites that Laraque did a good job last night by hurting Kronwall. But then again, who could ask for anything less from a group of fans who sing Nanana, hey hey, goodbye when their team has a 2 goal lead with 4 minutes left in the 3rd period (not to mention their pathetic OLE OLE OLE soccer chant...)?

Hahahahaha... LOL The guy kept giving interviews after interviews in the french medias in Québec saying that the Pens would win the Cup and that he would make Hossa regret his decision of joining the Wings in the off season. I can't believe that a talented team like the Wings got beat by that Talbot bum! ROFL What's the need of paying big money to invisible players such as Hossa? Let's bring a few low salary blue collar cheap shot artists like Talbot if that's what the league wants! The guy gave Datsyuk a cheap shot in game 5 and not one single Wings player made him pay for that. What a bunch of wimps! Holland needs to add some toughness on that Wings rosters and QUICK!...a couple of mean canadian players who can throw some Sherwood at other teams star players, since the NHL tolerates this kind of actions. The mighty Red Wings getting beat on home ice in game 7 of the SCF by freaking Maxime Talbot... Hahahahahaha... WHAT A JOKE! And don't think that the Wings will bounce back next season! We are going to lose quality players during the summer and it will be early playoffs elimination for the next few years (2003-2007 all over again...) Too bad! Wings had their chances but they weren't hungry enough. They lost a HUGE opportunitie of winning a 5th Cup in 12 years and establishing themselves as one of the greatest dynastys ever...

Don't get me wrong here, I love Lidstrom, I wear his jersey proudly. I also like the Swedish players on the team. But the lack of physical play in that Pittsburgh series was obvious! Even in the Ducks series we were getting bumped all around the ice by guys like Beauchemin - the Ray Bourque of the poors - and Pronger (not to mention Datsyuk who had to fight against Niedermayer). Unacceptable!

My team is the Red Wings! HUGE FAN! I get insults from Hab fans all winter long at the local outdoor rink. I am so pissed off though... It would have been less painful if we would have lost because of Crosby or Malkin. But Maxime "freaking" Talbot distributing cheap shots at Datsyuk on our home rink and playing like Gordie Howe all of a sudden in game 7??? This would never have happened in the McCarty and Probert days, NEVER!!! This must be a bad dream or something...

Exactly! I was hoping that at least one Wings player would have punched him! But in vain... And the freaking medias in Québec all in love with the guy... Sooooo painful! AMEN!

I don't understand why the Wings were the first team to get penalize in almost every game during this final, giving the momentum to Pittsburgh by the same way??? I don't understand why Holmstrom was not effective at all during the final? I don't understand why Franzen stopped scoring goals in the final? I don't understand why Rafalski and Stuart played so crappy during the final? I also don't understand why the Wings didn't have the killer instinct after game 5??? Ozzie was superb right until the end though! BTW... Congrats to the Detroit fans who stayed right until the end and celebrated the Stanley Cup, unlike the fans in Pittsburgh who left the building as soon as game 6 ended last year! HUGE CONGRATS also to the fans at The Joe for booing that Bettman low ass rat during his hypocrit speech!!! Great job Hockeytown!

I am also proud of Datsyuk. But who does he thinks he is that Niedermayer bastard to be pounding on Datsyuk like that??? That would have never happened back when we had Bob Probert and Joey Kocur... The Wings need to find an enforcer and quick! I'm sick and tired of watching these Anaheim freaking Dicks playing the intimidation card against us! I hope that we demolish them in game 7!

CKAC Sports french play by play guy Martin McGuire said this morning that it doesn't matter if Lidstrom is not at the all star weekend because anyway, he has no charisma. Nick Lidstrom no charisma? WTH??? Certainly one of the most imbecile comment that I've heard in a long time...

I agree with you. By the way I watched the skills competitions and I must admit that it was very entertaining. What a show put on by Tim Thomas and the rest of the Boston Bruins! It was kinda weird though not seeing one single Wings player. Absurdity at it's best...

I don't know what is the problem with Québec sports medias folks, but all they seem to care about are the Pens, the Avs, the Ducks, the Sharks (oh yeah right, the eternal playoffs chokers...) and the Dallas Stars. They seem to think that François Beauchemin and Stéphane Robidas are better defenceman only because of the fact that they are "Québécois francophones". Now, I'm a French Canadian myself and this crap really gets on my nerves. I'm known here as Mister Red Wings. I own a personal website on which I praise the Wings. I also call regularely the all sports station CKAC to put things in perspective : Ducks = only one Cup Same thing with the Stars Avs domination era = OVER Wings are the only power team of the 90's still at the top of the league Lidstrom = 3rd after Doug Harvey and Bobby Orr for the most Norris Trophy won ...etc. No need to tell you that I piss people off most of the time and honestly speaking, I LIKE IT! All this to say that the Montréal fans are not as hockey "connaisseurs" as some people might think...
