Pav! He deserved it -- all of that happened because he held the puck in at the line.
-
Jimmy bit too early there. Man, the Wings play well and still nothing is coming easy.
-
It sure was. Kindl has regressed to his old ways so far this season. Expected more from him after it looked like he finally took a major step forward in his development. Really need E back to solidify the defense.
-
Nice defensive play by Quincey. Wasn't certain the keyboard would type that.
-
The d-men really struggle at hitting the net. Kindl and Lashoff have blown some shots well wide tonight.
-
Pretty good period. Euro Twins are still consistently the only line that sustains offensive pressure. I wish Abby had better finishing skills because his energy is noticeable.
-
There isn't a goalie in the league that would have stopped that shot. It was an odd-man rush one-timer. I guess you expect impossible lateral movement?
-
Go back to your unknown injury please Franzen.
-
What was Jimmy supposed to do on that goal? Well-executed play and the Wings defense wasn't back to take it away.
-
Has DeKeyser played at all yet? Kronner hasn't been out there with him any shifts I have seen.
-
Refs gave the Wings one more power play than usual already, so no call there for Abby.
-
Quincey shouldn't play when E returns. Lashoff is far more dependable now. Either way, the Wings need a puck-moving defenseman desperately at the trade deadline or next summer. Kronwall - Ericsson DeKeyser - Kindl Lashoff - Smith Quincey has no excuse for his atrocious defense and he's not contributing anything offensively either. Smith is still developing at least. Hard to believe Holland really wanted Quincey back a second time.
-
Kyle Quincey. Will Babcock ever learn not to play him in important situations? He's a turnover machine.
-
We don't need Nyquist. Cleary and Eaves on the PP is just fine. This is a one line team.
-
Detroit is a disaster in the neutral zone. Errant passes and no speed. They give up possession of the puck far too easily.
-
The Red Wings haven't had the puck at all since Z's goal.
-
Or just keep him off the ice altogether. I agree though -- Kronwall and DeKeyser need to be out there against Stamkos. Quincey coughed up the puck in the neutral zone and allowed the Lightning to come right back in. He's noticeably bad almost every shift lately.

GDT 11/7 GDT: Stars 4 at Red Wings 3 (OT)

Tatar barely played 8 minutes. Meanwhile, Samuelsson over 11 and Cleary had 16. How does that happen? -

The Wings had four guys back, Eakin was by himself and they all collapsed allowing the Stars to maintain control in the zone. That goal never happens if they force Eakin to give up the puck. -
How bad was the 2012 summer for Holland? Samuelsson is a three million dollar healthy scratch, Tootoo gets waived, Colaiacovo already bought out and Brunner is with another team. That's brutal and unfortunately still costing the Red Wings now in roster and cap space. Bringing Cleary back only furthered the issue. I hope Eaves sticks around over Samuelsson. Eaves is a good 4th liner and penalty killer. Another body has to go for Nyquist to come up, which I assume is the ultimate goal here soon.

Tatar is tenacious on the puck. He has consistently been good even when the team has rough nights like this.
-
Yes. Almqvist is making his NHL debut. Kronner, DeKeyser and Lashoff have been fine. Rough night for Kindl too, but Quincey is consistently worse.
-
No one on defense has been worse. Not just tonight, but the entire season Quincey has been bad and Smith just gets most of the attention. For his price tag, Quincey provides nothing offensively and is equally disappointing at the other end. I don't think anyone is singling Quincey out -- the "irrational hate" stems from him being a bust since he came back.
-
The Wings just look so slow most nights. Having Helm back helps, but they need Nyquist too on that dismal second line.
-
Bad mistake by Almqvist. He vacated the front of the net twice there.
