Kyle Quincey on the ice for every goal against, with or without Smith.
-
Setoguchi is still a massive idiot. He leveled Pav there with a cross check. I thought he was only good for taking a dive.
-
DeKeyser has a rocket shot! Weiss has been excellent tonight -- probably the best forward for the Red Wings. Another faceoff win created that goal.
-
The Wings are a wreck tonight coming out of their own zone. Too slow and errant passes galore.
-
Definitely not Quincey. The other two are respectable choices. My vote is for Ericsson, even though the consensus on him has finally become more favorable here.
-
I would have rather kept Colaiacovo and used a buyout on Quincey instead. Colaiacovo was at least a solid puck mover, something this defense is lacking overall. Quincey is just bad at both ends.
-
Kyle Quincey is terrible. Why exactly did Holland feel acquiring him a second time was a good idea?
-
That is one of the weakest calls I have seen. Didn't affect Ladd at all getting a shot off.
-
Smith and Samuelsson have been terrible in an otherwise impressive showing. Smith just rushes everything and then ends up taking a penalty as a result of his forced mistakes.
-
Absolutely agree. Tatar has really clicked with Abby and Andersson too the past few games. I'm fine with a third line role for now -- Nyquist and Brunner flourished there with Andersson and Tatar can do the same. I don't see Tatar being scratched any time soon again with the way he has been playing.
-
Helm and Tatar! Helm's speed looked pretty good there and Tatar makes something happen nearly every shift it seems.
-
Why are they trying the Samuelsson experiment again? Just let him collect his money. He's more useful not playing. Helm and Tootoo together would be fun to watch.
-
How is Weiss a defensive liability? His faceoffs are improving lately, he has done a nice job killing penalties and he's sound in his own zone. The criticism for his lacking offensive production to this point is warranted, but Weiss has been fine defensively.
-
Wideman grabs Z and throws him down with the puck long gone. Officiating by the score in this league is something else.
-
Abby! What a snipe.
-
Tatar and Abby have shown some nice chemistry together. Throw Helm out there with them as their center and that could turn into a real good third line.
-
Wow, nice sell there. These calls tonight are weak.
-
That was fortunate, but works no less. Maybe they can try competing harder this time around with the lead.
-
Franzen out. Or in other terms, the same impact as if he were playing.
-
True, but Franzen being awful is more negatively impactful than others. The Red Wings desperately need secondary scoring and he is not providing it at all. The top line is excellent, but that's all the Red Wings have and Franzen's poor efforts on the second line this season are putting all of the burden on Datsyuk and Zetterberg.
-
Russell also completely out worked him along the boards when the puck was loose to clear the zone. Franzen probably thought it was effective though.
-
Franzen doesn't even try to compete in puck battles. The Wings are a one-line team.
-
Franzen being effective.
-
Too bad Mr. I got his way with Prince. Sorry, still bitter about that contract. I agree though that his influence has diminished due to health. I think he's basically there as a blank check for the Tigers to win a World Series.

Tatar! The Wings look far better tonight than any of the past four games. Good pressure and not giving up a ton of shots against Jimmy.
