I thought before the season the Red Wings would finish between 6th and 8th in the West best case scenario. Considering the circumstances and fashion it took to accomplish that, it's a truly remarkable feat they pulled it off at all. No Lidstrom, no Stuart, no Helm, no Bertuzzi and yet here we are celebrating a 22nd consecutive appearance in the playoffs. Everyone in the organization deserves a ton of credit for turning an already tough "transition year" into one of development and opportunity to still compete at the same time. Very rewarding result tonight as a fan. Can't wait for the playoffs to start!

Agreed. The Wings have stood around for years and watched opponents take liberties. Hell, Howard has been run so many times this season even with no response. That's a penalty I don't mind. At least Smith will stick up for his teammates.
