Damn, I was stoked Iginla was going to Boston. I thought they were the only team that could hang with the Penguins in the East during the playoffs, but now... Crosby, Malkin, Iginla, Neal, Kunitz all in the top-six on one roster. That's not even fair. We just gotta hope they can't keep the puck out of their own net again.
-
I want to give Samuelsson a chance, but I just don't care he's coming back. Maybe he can stay healthy and come up clutch in the playoffs again.

Douglas Murray to Pittsburgh, Confirmed, Awaiting full details

You have to take other team's fan boards into account. Fans are emotional and go with the good/bad at the moment of their respective team. For example, casual readers from other sites would likely assume we hate everyone on the team besides Datsyuk, Z (most of the time) and Howard (some of the time). Obviously that isn't the case, but I don't know how much stock you can put into reactionary opinions about a player such as Murray. -
Wow, 16 years. An unforgettable hockey game.
-
Bad mistake by Nyquist.
-
Monster has been superb. Neither goal has been his fault and coming up with some spectacular saves.
-
Euro Twins!
-
That was the epitome of ugly until that goal by Franzen. Huge to tie it up before the third. The Coyotes trap and the Red Wings won't have legs, so it would have been tough going the final 20.
-
Valerie might be pretty, but his hockey performance sure isn't tonight.
-
DeKeyser could very easily come in and play for the Red Wings immediately. They have a lot of bodies on defense, but with Quincey out, that 6th spot is quite attainable right now. White is horrible and was a healthy scratch for a long stretch. Huskins is a nice depth player and Colaiacovo is always a health concern.
-
Agreed, but that's going to be the major issue involved. Not sure I want to give up what Calgary will want for a likely rental. I said it in the GDT, but the thought of Iginla with Datsyuk is pretty appealing. The cost is going to be insane though.
-
Agreed. Not sure the cost is worth it for an aging Iginla, even with the intrigue of Datsyuk as a linemate.
-
Talking about Iginla now. I'm definitely not intrigued by the likely asking price, but I also can't help and imagine what Iginla could do still on Datsyuk's wing.
-
Not nearly like the games against Calgary and Minnesota recently. Anaheim is a really good team. They were bound to get scoring chances and control play coming off Friday's effort, which they did. Howard was the difference.
-
Jimmy Howard is a beast. Whatever contract he gets, he has earned. Great work taking two games on the road against one of the best teams in the league. Very tough to win in Anaheim and the Wings just pulled it off twice in three days. When the Red Wings don't shoot themselves in the foot with defensive miscues, they can hang with anyone.
-
I will take Z and Datsyuk losing with dignity any day over those two whiners.
-
Haha, the Ducks best players are such whiners. I can't stand Getzlaf and Perry. They can never just lose a game without throwing a fit.
-
This can't end fast enough.
-
That was a legitimate penalty. I was expecting one, but in the form of typical NHL questionable fashion.
-
It just feels like that tying goal is coming, or at minimum a penalty soon. These two points would be huge playing again tomorrow night.
-
Fair enough. That was not stated originally, so I just presumed you wanted Cleary benched based off the results of tonight's game. I'm not opposed to that idea either, but I can't see it happening.
-
I cringe any time the puck goes near Ian White. Kindl has been very steady on that pairing at least.
-
A weak one, to make up for the roughing call on Smith. I don't see how that is really Cleary's fault. Cleary plays well and people still want him benched. He's doing just fine now being on the third line where he belongs.
-
He has a goal tonight and that "penalty" was merely one soft call for another.
-
We have all seen Ian White play. There's definitely a spot open for Dekeyser.
